Serious question: why is the end of Matrix: Reloaded not considered a legendary or even great twist? I dislike the sequences in Zion a lot, but the in-Matrix parts were fun and the revelation of theother Neoswas fun. What did you guys think?
>>63049211
The twist was great but the execution was lacking.
>google matrix reloaded stream
>director: Lana Wachowski
??
what twist
>>63049404
That there have been several iterations of the Matrix and each one had their own "Neo"
>>63049211
Finding a penny in a turd doesn't make it worth digging through the turd.
>>63049451
oh that, no one fucking cared because it was delivered in an extremely anticlimactic manner which no one could understand
>The Oracle tells Neo that free will doesn't exist.
>Neo has already made all the choices he's ever going to make, now he just has to figure out why he's going to make those choices
ONE HOUR LATER
>Neo is given a choice: save Trinity or save Zion
>he chooses both, despite the architect telling him this is literally impossible
Congratulations, you've robbed the hero of all agency in the film and gave him a choice that didn't require any thought or understanding.
>>63049365
>tfw I still have a Dvd with the Wachowski bros on it
I think the Matrix movies would have been a lot more interesting and emotionally affecting if the main characters had spent more time interacting with people still living in the Matrix.
>>63049211
I found the twist that everything is actually in another bigger Matrix better. Seeing that Neo is connected somehow to another type of simulation at the end where he had powers in the "real" world and could "see" Smith. 2manylayers4u
This trilogy is Inception but better.
>>63049818
Right on the money. If I had the ability and opportunity to somehow remake those movies I'd have the second one be Neo freeing as many people as possible from the program from within. It would end with The Matrix being destroyed and a bunch of people ready to fight the machines in the real world, which would be the third movie.
>>63049861
>Seeing that Neo is connected somehow to another type of simulation at the end where he had powers in the "real" world and could "see" Smith. 2manylayers4u
>another type of simulation
no
>>63049818
>>63050009
I see your points but remember that the agents can get inside the body of anyone at any time, so it would be kinda hard for Neo trying to tell them the truth when they are shaking and turning into Smith.
Fuck all the movies just watch Animatrix. The Wachowski brothers are hacks.
>>63051571
>brothers
fucking bigot. why do you do this? to bait? why?
>>63051517
>"Hey wait, Neo, take this"
>Throws him a pair of glasses
>"Top of the line personal firewall, it stops agents from hacking your and taking over your body
"Woah"
Problem solved
>>63051613
ahaha and now he has to wear them FOREVER
matrix reloaded might be the wachoskis best movie. the first was fun and a great execution of a lot of other peoples ideas. on reloaded they just went for it on both the action and the world building aspects while maintaining on that world and the themes.
the architect scene is brilliant, only retards believe otherwise. unfortunately that was the high water mark and the remainder of the story (revolutions) was uninspired and almost like a messy race to the finish line
All of Reloaded is really good. I don't know why anyone would hate the Zion scenes there. Why would you rather not see the real world? However I do agree that Revolutions has some comparatively shallow Zion scenes. They really stretched out the Link/Zee thing as far as they could.
>>63049511
They dont take Smith into account when telling him these things but since these are prophetic figures telling him these things its a bit of a let down that they are wrong.
>>63049818
Animatrix touches on this and it's pretty good.
>>63051571
HANDS AROUND MY THROAT
so /tv/ likes matrix 2 and 3? am I being memed here?
>>63051944
No. The oracle tells you what you need to hear. The movie never states that you are receiving the whole truth.
>>63051990
no, 3 is garbage
>>63051990
Two is decent if you skip the rave scene and the cliffhanger ending.
>>63051999
Its also Smith that is closer to the description of The One.
>>63049211
A better twist would have been that Morpheus IS the architect. think about it, the architect is desperate to find the one and get him on his side, convince him to continue the fight for Zion and reject love for the greater good. It would mirror more classic myth stories of betrayal and the trope of having to kill the father to become complete your character arch. And it would have connected the audience better to the villains and the drama.
Everyone liked Reloaded when it came out. But Revelations which came out a few months after was so bad it clouded everyone's memory.
>>63052010
You cant really skip the cliffhanger ending, the story isnt over no matter what you do.
I don't get why people would rather an incomplete story just because the third act is a little weak.
>>63049211
matrix reloaded was a shit movie so nobody cares how good the twist was
>>63052045
that could have been neat
>>63052062
because most people are idiots and can not appreciate fine cinema.
>>63049365
You don't know what happened?
The main problem with Revolutions is that at that point in the story, pretty much the whole stage has been set. There was notably fewer cool new things in it than in previous movies.
>>63049495
I can understand not getting it if you were young when you saw it, but what he says is pretty straight forward.
>>63049211
It was stupid and the movie was too far up its own ass to realize this.
>>63052045
I'm not opposed to it but then nothing would make sense. It can't be a plot twist because humans that disconnect from the Matrix have a conscience and body in the physical world. When Neo is disconnected, he sees Morpheus and all the crew. Morpheus as the Architect would have been a program and would have been unable to do this.
>>63052246
Smith shows that a program can possess a human host.
>>63049495
>which no one could understand
i'm sorry your ADD prevents you from paying attention.
Freedom is not being given a choice.
Freedom is doing whatever the hell you want.
Smith understood this. Neo had to do it to save the world. It's also why Larry got his dick chopped off.
>>63052045
>So at the end of the film, Morpheus kills the Architect, but he picks up his pen and says... "now I'M The Architect!"
>>63052304
Basically all of the normie media was mocking the architect scene endlessly because they didn't understand da big werds.
>>63052321the penis is inverted, not removed
>>63052304
Many people are not good at watching stuff.
>>63052246
First, Morpheus could have had the architect program downloaded into his mind long ago, and this could make sense of his deep purpose to find the one, he needs to because the one choosing Zion over love is the key to the survival of his masterpiece. It would have been a great reveal at the end of the second film, that this is what they've been fighting for all along, right? the survival of humanity? the architech could be portrayed not as some strict authroity figure we expect, but instead someone who loves rebels and freedom fighters, because those who fight the system are the most important part of the system, they test it, and make it better.
>>63052841
and Knowing that people becoming unplugged is inevitable, what better way to guide them than to lead them, show them the way out and give them what they want, because in the ultimate twist of irony, the father of the matrix is playing both sides, and has an interest in both continuing. The humans are a virus, but one the architect loves and the machines need, not only for energy, but to push them to evolve, to adapt and grow.
Waow. 4chan is so cool.
>>63053004
>The humans are a virus, but one the [machines] love and ... need, not only for energy, but to push them to evolve, to adapt and grow.
this part is already part of the lore
liked reloaded the best
>>63051952
Agreed, that's what make it better than any of the films.
>>63053050
Mein negger. Liked it best when it came out. Prefer the first now, but they're both great
>>63049818
My takeaway from the films is that a lot of people are simply not ready to be red pilled. They would have a breakdown or otherwise lose it when disconnected from their "reality".
Plus the obvious problem with all people still plugged-in being vectors for agents, that could pop up whenever.
>>63053025
Not really, the architect doesn't like that the anomaly exists, he would rather find a way to eliminate his flaw.
the cliffhanger was good also
>>63049451
We already had a confimration that Neo wasn't the first, so there really wasn't much of a twist in this whole thing being expanded.
>>63053186
the one is the anomaly, not humans
Well i agree OP. But there's one big issue with the movies. People aren't smart enough to read all of the symbolism and hidden meanings.
Its why it wasn't even close to get the critical acclaim it deserved. Seeing that the only subject that gets bashed on is the story telling i'd say the movie is great, just not obvious enough for mainstream success.
>>63053223
All we know in the first film from Morpheus is when the Matrix was first created, "there was a man born inside" "who could remake the Matrix as he saw fit". But Neo is decidedly less impressive, and his incarnation (prophecy of the Oracle according to Morpheus, but we know this is just a ruse) was just one of many, in another system of control.
>>63049211
>a great twist
are we talking about his wifes boobs?
JUST
The Animatrix is better.
The humans end up tortured and defeated by the machines but the machines are the creation of man so really humans are torturing and defeating themselves because they just cant stop being jerks.
>>63049511
>The Oracle tells Neo that free will doesn't exist.
How do you figure?
>>63052106
What happened?
>>63052045
It's a very Jewish thing to want to kill your father. The reconciliation of the father and the son is very Christian.
>>63054117
totally would if it wasn't
>Dodge THIS.
>>63052091
>anything by the Wachowski's
>fine cinema
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
honestly by that point in the trilogy they had pretty much lost me plot-wise. It is pretty convoluted. MI-2 tier
>>63052841
>>63053004
And Morpheus Architect would be the one to properly introduce Trinity to Neo and push their relationship forward to see if this Neo would really choose Zion over Love.
