watched it very few years ago, really liked it. most people bitch about the second season but i think the first half of it it's practically on par with the first season. and then there are just 4 or 5 episoded i think before the finale so, not bad.
you say "nothing earth shattering" but it's pretty popular and really unique (even by today standards), also when every tv show ever now it's heavily inspired by it and every tv director, producer, writer cite the show as an inspiration... i think the earth shattered at least a wee bit.
