I've downloaded all my movies and TV shows of the internet for the past 10 years.
I genuinely feel that people who are stupid enough to pay a monthly fee to be forced to watch commercials should not be allowed to vote in elections.
I'm watching all simpsons episodes atm. Haven't payed for tv in 5 years. I mostly watch films, like 2 or 3 a day I get from private trackers. No need for tv. I wish we had a /film/ board.
I HAVE NOT WATCHED TELEVISION IN APPROXIMATELY FIVE YEARS.
The only reason I have it is because they bundle that shit with internet. I have cable and a landline without a TV or phone.

Upgraded to 300 meg internet yesterday and I only pay $85 a month and also don't pay for cable. I still get all the channels direct cable to tv with no box though because they can't put a blocker on my line or I won't hit my speed.
So yeah I don't pay for cable but still legally get it from my company.

Mostly just watch netflix or whatever crap happens to be on network tv. TV card in the PC acts like a DVR for network stuff too. Stuff that is cable only just download, like The Walking Dead or Ash Vs Evil Dead..
I haven't watched TV on a TV since...I think Black Books reruns when I was staying at my brother's 6-7 years ago? Something like that.

Been about 3-4 years without cable tv here.
I don't miss it.
Occasionally i'll visit my brother and hang out as they watch tv, and every single time i'm amazed at how many commercials people sit through.
Its like 20 minutes of ads for every 10 minutes of tv. Its fucking insane.
Also he doesn't use any adblockers, so using the internet over there is a fucking nightmare.
I've been using it for so long that I was legitimately confused what was going on when an ad started playing on youtube.

I haven't had any channels of any sort for years. my TV is essentially a monitor for my netbook. basically just watch a load of youtube and streaming sites. it has a USB media player so I can watch movies/series, as well as my PS3 for blurays (though I never bother with them desu)
use my laptop to shitpost from my couch. perfectly happy with this setup

Been using streaming sites, torrents, etc for all my content.
It sucks when I have to wait for network weekly shows to come up but it saves me money for sure.
Won't cutting the cord just encourage cable companies to put caps on the data unless you bundle?
