Is this the funniest show of all time?
It's really not funny at all. This show, Community and Rick and Morty are the first things that spring to mind when I think of "reddit sensibility" comedy.

It's like if you made a show where every character was played by Chris Pratt doing a different annoying voice. I'm literally shaking with rage just thinking about it.
Got really old really fast. Same thing with 30 Rock. The characters just don't change, and they're only entertaining for a few episodes.

It was amazing for its time, and has now been aped by most every comedy that's come out since people started noticing it. Which is a shame, because the reason it was so great in the first place is because it was so unique. It's sort of like anything else that sparks a shift in cultural sensibilities. Eventually the context is lost and it's taken for granted. It's also hard to say because when it came out I watched through it about four times in one year, so I'm a little jaded to it as well.

I think it's up there. I mean, the show isn't for everyone. Some of the humor can be too subtle and other times it can be obvious as fuck.
I personally loved the cast and certain jokes that would make an appearance throughout the series. My only real complaint about the show is that the narrator tends to explain some things that don't need explaining. It sort of ruins some of the jokes.
Season 4 was weak, but had good episodes. It's biggest fault besides the lack of the full cast together was the inclusion of Ron howard. Holy shit did they go fucking overboard with Ron Howard. Not only were most of s4's episodes overly narrated by him in order to explain everything between seasons, but his character within the show was just annoying as fuck.
I personally loved the show overall. It's not the funniest of all time (because that's a subjective title) but I think it's up there.
I just don't understand how people can laugh at comedy shows. It's just the most forced crap ever. Let's create some sanitised environment and trick you into laughing.

The first episode I saw was the tiny town episode. When George Michael and Tobias battle it out in suits in front of the Japanese investors I just about pissed my pants. That's probably my fondest distinct memory of it.

I recently watched through the whole series again and 4 has its moments but it falls short of the bar that the earlier seasons set. I think what worked for the show is that it focused on Michael and everything just happened around him. Season 4 splits the focus off into the individual family members and it just didn't work.

The show revolved around Micheal and George Michael, the rest of the family were there as side characters for them to interact with and as subplots.
I really don't understand why the focus shifts to them for entire episodes, the concept of the interlinked interpretations was neat, but an entire episode about lindsey is as interesting as an entire episode of the Simpsons where the entire focus is on lenny or Carl.
Season 4 ruined the dynamic of the show, it feels like an epilogue to AD and shifted the tone and focus too far.

I think it's more the frenzied dynamic of having all these characters play off each other that made the show great rather than a focus on Michael and George Michael.
In fact, Michael and George Michael's centric episodes in season 4 were among the weakest. On the other hand, characters like Buster and Maeby who you might not think capable of carrying an episode really shined through.

I wouldn't count M and G.m's season 4 episodes as evidence as they were never characters made to stand alone, the humour comes from the family playing off each other, with Micheal as the straight (ish) man trying to hold the frenzy together.

Early trailer Park boys was up there but at some point, I forget the season, it jumped the shark so hard that it's become irredeemably shit.
Everything early on where it feels like an actual documentary and the characters feel like real people is great.
