Defiance got cancelled because instead of sci-fi they wanted to do a stupid love story between two characters no one cares about just to cram more time in, lazy writing took forever to get to that anticlimactic end of season 2 and season 3 just flat out sucked

Don't know if it can be saved, OP. The show was too "problematic" to begin with, and it's obvious SyFy started drinking the SJW Kool-Aid not long after the first season aired. It's why we have shit like Dark Matter and Killjoys, which at a glance look like the EXACT SAME FUCKING SHOW in commercials, because "muh human-centric diversity."
Never mind that fuckign diversity in scifi is found in the myriads of alien races. No let's show how progressive we are by having two indistinguishable shows filled with brown people and snoring "feminist" writing like "My eyes r up here XD"
