The one interesting thing George Lucas could have done with Star Wars that would have successfully redeemed both him and his ailing franchise is release the entire thing to the public domain, so that eventually someone with real ideas for how to use the setting could have put those ideas to work.
Instead the already wealthy toy magnate decided to go for a big paycheque and a continued slide into complete irrelevance, and a future for fans of Disney's enforced, by-the-numbers mediocrity
Just another missed creative opportunity for Lucas, in a career that's been full of them.
There is like 6 "I hate George Lucas" threads already.
You fucking virgins need to turn of your computer and go get laid.

that would result in more shitty content with the Star Wars logo on it, not less
>>62997328
And most of the shitty ones will be forgotten. So?

Not on /TV/ they would be memed to death. Kinda like the EU
>>62997410
the shitty ones would reduce the likelihood of the good material getting seen, the whole franchise would go down in flames.
there's nothing inherently awesome about the Star Wars IP beyond the visual design, IV and V were great because of the writing. so if the visuals stop being associated with good writing the franchise will cease to exist just like the Matrix.

the shit would be ignored while the good stuff would be rewarded
with disney the shit will be brought to the forefront, canonized and merchandised until you can't escape it.

>the shit would be ignored while the good stuff would be rewarded
you mean like in the film industry as a whole?
