That's the plan. Vader was the runaway character from ANH, and became the face of Star Wars and one of the greatest merchandising money making icons of all time. Vader was so popular, the next two sequels were literally written about him to ensure he is at the focus of the story. SAme with prequels, he seels so fucking well, that the prequels became all about Vader, and the 6 movies are now the saga of "Anakin Skywalker."
Now they are cramming Vader's image into TFA, with Kylo as his inheritor. Disney knows what they are doing, Kylo will be the new face of Star Wars in a few years.

I think Kylo's journey from dark to light will parallel Anakin's in many ways, except it will be his cousin Rey trying to guide him to the light rather than Luke. Kylo is edgy and "sith", but he's extremely faithful and honest to the cause. A guy you can rely on to carry out the mission no matter what, and pure of heart (he believes what he does is good, and praises Vader)
Rey is mysterious, silent. She knows more than the spectator when the film starts. Due to her past, her knowledge about it, and her scavenging means of survival, she's not really trustworthy. She despises everything jedi, that's why Finn has the lightsaber, because Rey refuses to touch it. At the end of TFA she begins formal Jedi training with Luke, making her fit to become a Sith afterwards.
