How many more filler episodes, where literally nothing happens, will we have to endure? Not just during this season, but the rest of the life of this series. Why couldn't they just reduce the number of episodes made, instead of having these blatantly filler episodes like last night's?
This series has become a joke after season 1.
>>
season 2 was literally a whole season filler, I don't know what you expected
>>
Do they ever find out what's *really* going on, like is this on all continents, who released the virus, etc.? Seems like "set up a township" should've been a plotline in an earlier season, like season 3, and then the scope of the story would begin to expand after that.
>>
Just watch it ironically
>>
>>62983325
Do people not get bored watching this show?
It's just so poor quality with 95% filler episodes where nothing happens at all.

I know and wonder the same thing.
Are we, the viewer, so braindead that we have become... THE WATCHING DEAD?
>>
>>62983995
No
>>
>>62984095
It's still not as bad as Hershel's farm. Now I see why they made it as shit as it was. It was to temper us for what's to come.
>>
>>62984095
>FILLER EPISODES WHERE NOTHING HAPPENS
>NOTHING HAPPENS
Not that it's particularly well-done, but this is what a generation of ADD babies who can't into exposition actually believe.
>>
Everything after season one is filler. I mean, honestly - can you blame them? Financially speaking, it would be stupid for them to not just keep churning this shit out forever until people get tired of it. It's not like it's some super deep series with complex themes and nuanced characters, it's a stupid zombie show, so what do the showrunners care whether they make 15 more episodes or 115 more?

I pretty much hate all things British, but at least if they had this source material, they would have made it into a limited run series and not dragged it out for an eternity because it got good ratings.
>>
>>62984305
The british have already done a ton of better zombie-related stuff. They don't need this shit.
>>
I don't think you know what filler actually means.

He means filler in the sense that there aren't a thousand things moving, fucking, or dying on screen at one time so he mentally checks out of the episode and then bitches about perceived plot holes in every thread after that were really just him missing half of what was going on because he didn't pay attention.

So basically in the same sense the majority of posters (read: braindead flaming retards) in TWD threads use the word.

At this point, I think I'm just watching the show to see how bad the acting, dialogue, and story gets.

This show really suffers from watching it live, the week-to-week wait serves to highlight the pacing issues. I wait for seasons to be mostly finished before binging and only having to wait to watch maybe the last two. This doesn't completely alleviate the problem but it makes it a lot less noticeable, in parts.

Finally a reasonable comment.
I watch it the next day on my dvr and even a little thing like skipping commercials helps.
Dear basedgod the pacing is the worst I've ever seen in any show in history.
I proudly say "you still like that show?" whenever someone brings up TWD now
>>
>>62985023
6 seasons in I know what to expect from this show by now and yeah I still like it, but I don't bother getting mad about it's flaws because if they bothered me that much I'd be retarded to still be watching.

I should have stopped watching during season 2, you warned me /tv/ and i didn't listen. Now I've invested to much time to drop it.
>>
>>62983325
This is the same thing that came up time and time again with LOST.

The answer? Commercials.

They rope you in and stretch the plot out in order to get you to watch more commercials. This is why the only quality shows are on Netflix and HBO, they actually have a narrative instead of a bunch of hack writers in a room saying "how can we make this last X episodes".

How you fucking retards haven't realized this yet is beyond me because it's obvious.
>>
>>62985188
It's never too late.
>>
>>62983325

The biggest problem with this show it the music. It's scored like fucking Dawson's Creek when what they need is a 2spooky4u Romero-type score, with creepy haunted organ music and shit. Imagine how much scarier it would be. Another fucking scene with zombies walking to soft, sad piano music and I will lose it.

>WAKE UP SHEEPLE THEY AIR TV SHOWS TO ADVERTISE AND GET YOU TO BUY THINGS WHY DON'T YOU GET IT
What a novel and refreshing stance, I'm sure nobody's ever thought about that before.

>>
>>62985309
Well that's fine for, say, Seinfeld. But for for a drama spanning multiple seasons it obviously effects the writing and overall narrative.

>>62985390
LOST sucked ass 90% of the time.
>>
>>62985497
LOST is the TV version of Mass Effect.
>>
>>62985528
So the first season was decent and the rest was shit?

Noted.
>>
>>62985542
The drop in quality isn't that sharp, but yeah later seasons aren't as good, and the last season/ending somehow manages to retroactively sour the memories of the fun times you had during the journey.

>Shane and Sophia die

>>62984544
Correct. Calling TWD filler was a meme. When Glenn was revealed alive there was still people shitposting that it was a filler episode

I'd say yes because it's my all time favorite show, but a big part of that was watching every episode on actual TV from the very beginning and then going online to discuss it. Since i live in Sweden i can't watch new shows as they air because they get here a few weeks late even if they are popular so i torrent everything, but i only watched LOST on an actual TV with my dad and brother.

Watching LOST over 7 years added to that special, comfy feel but i'm sure you'll still enjoy it even if you tank it all at once.

can confirm. binged it in about 3 weeks. some episodes can get a bit dull if revolved around a boring character. but worth the ride imo
>>
>nothing happens

but things happen. Events occur. Stories are told. I think the problem lies with you anon.
