What went wrong at Pixar?
They decided that the Cars universe was what everyone cared about

Slow motion destruction as the Disney poison seeped into the Pixar culture
They ghost directed Wreck it Ralph and gave Brave to Disney.

I'm confused. This looks good? It has positive buzz? Pixar knocked it out of the park with their last three movies... why is anything wrong here.
Unless you meant Dreamworks. They're fucked.

>Pixar knocked it out of the park with their last three movies
>Brave
>Good
>Monsters U
>Good
>Inside Out
>Good
Lot of implying there.
they let john lasseter direct another movie

Inside Out wasn't great but it was original and everything made sense within the universe they created in the film, which is why people loved Pixar in the first place.

More like the opposite desu fám
Disney Animation studios have been really good since the acquisition of Pixar
>>62980125
Everything after the initial sequence of Up.
The directors got moved to Disney animation studios. Tangled/Frozen etc. is the spiritual successor to Pixar
>>62982850
>and everything made sense within the universe they created in the film
No. Wrong. It didn't. I get that it can be argued 'its metaphorical so it doesn't exactly have to stay consistent', but you can't make both arguments at once

>Inside Out
>Not Good
Fuck outta here.

>What went wrong at Pixar?
They are too nice and instead of completely taking over the Disney culture and telling them exactly how it is going to be they fell into the trap of thinking that they should listen to anything Disney has to say about anything and that their opinions are valid or constructive.
Pixar has always been the real spiritual successor to the golden era of Disney, and they are surprisingly comparable in terms of skill and creativity. What they lack is the shark like nature of guys like Disney himself who was not afraid to literally kill to defend his empire and way of life.

>great but it was original
>red guy is angry
>blue girl is sad
>original

This. The fire has gone out in him.

>Pixar has always been the real spiritual successor to the golden era of Disney
Aside from the fact that both studios' films were critically acclaimed during their respective peaks, the golden-age canons of Disney and Pixar have nothing in common with each other. Disney released epic fantasy, Pixar's are high-concept ideas in otherwise modern, naturalistic settings.
