Neither of those are dependent on shocking twists to be enjoyable. That's all ASOIAF, on the other hand, has going for it. Also in those cases, the comics and films build on each other to develop a larger continuous story line; the same isn't true for for Martin's books or their adaption.

The show is such a complete mess desu familiar.
So in the books Stannis is alive and separated from Elyse, who is still at the wall. He's just about to go into battle, in fact. So either Stannis lives through the battle at Winterfell and then burns his daughter when they're reunited (but then there's no point), or he dies before he has a chance to burn her (suggesting that Mel does it without his consent or knowing).
Either way the show got it wrong in a BIG way. It's not entirely accurate to how the books will go, or its characters.
I really wish he was able to put it out in 2013. I'm not nearly as interested nowadays desu.
