Well, I think I've been confusing the terms feminism and gender equality, because I tend to hope that the two go hand-in-hand rather than seeing one gender being prioritised over the other (which I will agree, does happen, especially in contemporary western feminism). That in itself is becoming a meaningless concept, as mentioned in my original post.
