It was pretty good imo. Capaldi was amazing and Clara gir a good endjng.

12 becomes War12 for an episode and rapes Ashilidir to death, when?

It's actually one of my favorite episodes of all time. If the finale delivers, it'll be the GOAT season of Who.

I also want to fuck Ash-whats-her-face.

The one with he misshaped head.
>>
>>62932548
Brilliant.
The first one where downs potato was actually good.
Capaldi was great; really chilling as the doctor enraged.
Clara dying was done really well, I always felt she was too cocky and too perfect; it fit so perfectly that she died because she threw herself into danger because she was so sure of the doctor's infallibility and got killed because of it.
Especially tragic since the whole thing would've been resolved if she hadn't done it, she'd still be alive and so would the person she was risking her life for.

>>62932706
I've wanted that since GOT Season 1.

>To this day I will never understand why a character would ever choose to want to live a double life when they could just travel with the Doctor full time.
Remember when 9 brought Rose back a year late and everyone thought Mickey killed her? People have social lives. Sure you could say after full time traveling she could return to the moment she left, but you then have to explain aging or you could completely forget what you were doing when you left and dropping back in someone could be at a loss. If someone could only pick one or the other, then staying with the Doctor seems more likely, but there is no reason to not pick both.

Or another reason is getting tired. Have you ever done something you love for too long and need to take a break from it? Too much leisure time takes away from what is enjoyable about it, a fun break.
>>
>>62932548
Cause Clara died, 9/10

Aside from her dying, 5/10. Don't much care for Rigsy and didn't much care for the mystery
>>
Why did Doctor Who stop addressing that the companions have a family and shit.

Like why did they introduce us to Rory's dad and make a big deal about Amy's missing parents (then bring them back) only to just fuck off with them when they could have been relevant again? Clara's too.

Do their kids just never come home?
>>
>so that's 47 people I've killed now that would have been fine without me
>maybe I should stop taking random humans to go on adventures with dangerous aliens

Well senpai, in my opinion this episode was GOAT, by far the best Masie episode, the best companion exit of NuWho, and a pretty damn good episode just on its own really.

This is the first season i've watched live as each episode airs and before I watched all the seasons last year, I had seen most of the companion exits and massive moments from watching youtube videos, so maybe my opinion would be different if I had first seen those moments after getting to know the characters. But as it stands this episode is my favourite 'big moment' episode ever.

>>62932999
I like that we see the corpse.

Sounds dumb, but I hate how they always pussy out of companion death scenes. Amy/Rory was the closest thing IIRC. And I guess Captain Jack.

But no, Clara getting blasted, screaming, and then falling to the ground lifeless, and then a wide shot of her corpse? Nice, finally an explicitly killed companion.

All the other NuWho companion exits look like shit compared to this. This was GOAT

>Rose gets stuck in a parallel universe but comes back and gets her own sextoy doctor
>Martha leaves because the doctor doesn't give a shit
>Donna is used as a dues ex machina and then forgets everything
>paradoxes everywhere and fakeouts oh no weeping angel bye also rory ignored
>Clara was too cocky and got herself killed
>>
the doctor should threaten more people
>>
>>62933239
But this ending fit her character perfectly
>>
>>62933239
I'd say it would be really ofc for her to just leave the TARDIS and settle down and teach. She craves adventure and saving people almost as much as the Doctor.

This death was pointless, but that was kind of the point. She knew deep down inside that she'd either have to one day leave the TARDIS for good or she'd die. She was happy with the second.
>>
>>62933239
Fuck off. It's been so fucking long since a companion died, this was great and will lead to some incredible Capaldi breaking down acting in the following episodes.

Her entire arc this series is how the Doctor is her entire life now she's lost Danny, she is throwing herself into it full on and taking risks that only the Doctor can really get away with, it mirrored Mummy on the Orient Express and a few other episodes where the Doctor puts himself in the face of certain immediate death in order to save everyone, her recklessness lead her to do the same and she failed.

A better send off? Nigger it was perfect.

We agree there at least, I thought BTF was fucking incredible.

My problem with this episode was the middle section of them poncing around in Diagon Alley not really doing anything. The set was pretty poor and none of the supporting cast were at all memorable or interesting. It felt like there was a whole middle section missing.

The ending was strong and the early bit with finding the hidden streets was good too, reminded me of more of a Series 5 tone.

Missy was set up so beautifuly in the first two stories that it would be a Crime to drop her entirely from the series arch.

Whoever took him doesn't want the tardis, at least not primarily. They just want to keep the doctor out of it. I mean he can get in without the key but he can probably use the key to summon it to him or some shit.

That and if they wanted the tardis it wouldn't have been sitting exactly where it was long enough for rigs to make a memorial.

Which almost makes me think whoever took him is either a timelord or something more powerful/dangerous. Because literally any of the doctors regular enemies would have taken that tardis in the blink of an eye after getting the key.

>>62934646
I caught the tail end of it on bbca last week or so, the part where the doctor makes the robot bomb dude remember his fake life to disarm the bomb... That's like the single cheesiest shit that's happened since RTD left

But now that I'm thinking about it, daleks trying to serve the doctor tea was fucking hilarious
>>
>>62932895

In retrospect, that was one of the worst things I have ever watched.

>the Oracle is an AI that came to life for seemingly no reason and guards a DNA seed bank for seemingly no reason
>her guards are idiots. they are unable to see the Doctor and Leela when they're 3 feet in front of them, they nearly get killed by suffocating gas before they notice it, and they blow themselves and their leader up by accident
>Leela is treated with less dignity than K9
>the center of a planet has zero gravity

I think I only enjoyed it because it was fast paced. I can't get into the "classics" like Genesis and The Ribos Operation but I watched dreck like this and Resurrection all the way through.
>>
>>62934572
I think my first "live" series was Amy's last, and that was like what, four years ago? Five?

So I binged through the 9th up to that point over a week or so

But even still I remember more of the companions that came before the Ponds.

The biggest thing I do remember about that era was that I didn't like it, pretty much definitively.
I thought Amy was thoroughly uninteresting and had absolutely no chemistry with the Doctor, I've never liked River and she was there A LOT, the stories just weren't there for me. The big twist with River being Melody and all that shit, it was stupid.

Dalek Rangers happened too

For the longest time I had thought that I also hated Smith's Doctor, but I finally started to like him after Clara got introduced, because they actually worked well together.
>>
>>62934676
The Silurian episodes are okay as well, they just REALLY shouldn't have been a two parter. There was enough story there for one episode but they really stretch it out, bringing the mediocrity.
>>

I feel the exact opposite, they had great chemistry that just wasn't there with Clara.
>>
>>62934627
>So the people behind that mystery and trap and who Ashildr made the deal with are the Time Lords right?

>>62933764 answers the question.
[Wrong, The] Master [was behind it]

I responded to his answer saying the Master wouldn't be working wish Ashildr to get the TARDIS because she doesn't want or need it.
>>
>>62934481
>>62934298
> He was killed by the parasitic old folks in the Dream Lord's illusion (1)
> He was killed again when the TARDIS exploded in the Dream Lord's OTHER illusion. (2)
> He was shot by Silurians and erased from time. (3)
> Auton!Rory was killed when the universe ended. (4)
> He faked his own death to escape from the FBI. (5)
> He fell overboard Henry Avery's ship and drowned. (6)
> An older version of Rory is killed by the House. (7)
> An alternate Rory is killed by the Silence. (8)
> Finally, in The Angels Take Manhattan, Rory dies a total of three times, bringing the total up to... Eleven.

His final episode also foreshadows Eleven's fate. He visits his own grave, creates a time paradox to change his destiny, and then eventually dies of old age.
>>

Ok. Well. Then, that's like, your opinion man.

Run with it.
>>

>amy and the doctor had no chemistry

What the fuck are you talking about, Amy Rory and the Doctor all had great chemistry with eachother
>>
>>62934741
Did you just stop reading that post after the question mark? There was a whole other line.

Jesus fuck this conversation is retarded
>>
>>62934748

Not that anon, but they had great chemistry. I just didn't want the chemical they cooked up. No more catchphrases, no more bowties, no more kekolding.
>>
>>62934741
well, someone has mysteriously been feeding Ashildr information about the Doctor for a long time. We know that.

Missy has a Vortex Manipulator.

Earlier post points out the TARDIS hasn't been mollested. True. But the Doctor is certainly out of the way, and he no longer has his Will and Testament.. thing.

The question is, does Missy want his Will? I kinda doubt it, since she gave it back to him easily enough (I think I remember that)

So who wants the Doctor's last Will and Testament, and him "out of the way"?
>>
>>62934739
>>62934748
Maybe I'll need to rewatch it, but I remember she was always really like... like she never seemed to be enjoying herself, y'know?

Like Rory was fine, but Amy was kind of a bitch and I never really got the Doctor's attachment to her.

For all the shit Clara gets from the fans (which I also don't get), at least she was properly characterized as a friend. Like an adventure buddy.

>>62934789
The catchphrases were stupid, yeah
>fezzes are cool :^)
Doesn't he only say this, like, once? How did the fanbase latch onto it like that?
What the fuck
>>
>>62934744
> An alternate Rory is killed by the Silence. (8)

Is the only one I don't remember. When was this?
>>
The Doctor needs a male companion again like Rory or Perkins. He needs a bro.
>>
>>62934776
The whole other line was a statement, one that was justifying their answer to their own question. You tell me I can't speak english when you don't understand the difference between a question and a statement?
>>
>>62934809

>Doesn't he only say this, like, once? How did the fanbase latch onto it like that?

He mentions fezzes several more times. In The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Doctor, I think.
>>
>>62934798
I think it is more than that, the prison the Doctor is in next week is DESIGNED to make him mad/break him, they (Missy, the Time Lords?) are setting him up to do something.

Also the confession dial isn't useful until The Doctor is dead. Missy already knows that, as his best friend, she alone can read it. The plan probably involves The Doctor dying (which would be very fitting for The Master).
>>
>>62934810
The Wedding of River Song

Actually, I'm pretty sure he lives in that one.

>>62932548

The first half hour is pretty boring, if inoffensive, stuff. Gets good when Ashildr reveals her master plan and Clara fucking off.

I wouldn't class it as a three partner.

I see it more as a stand alone episode that leads directly into the finale, like Turn Left.

5/10. I found it hard to sit through because I already knew Clara was going to bite the dust.

Episodes centering around a mystery make for shit rewatching. They depend on withholding information from the audience, and when the audience has that information, the episodes have little else to offer.

Billie piper is pretty hot outside of doctor who, but rose was fugly the way they made her dress, Martha was aight 6.5/10 not writing home to mom about her, Donna was like 40, until Clara Amy was the best tho, she peaked in her first episode as the sexy cop kissogram tho

I just watched the episode.

After Clara and what's his name make the switch, I swear there was a scene where the Doctor is standing RIGHT BEHIND HIM but doesn't say a word. I even thought "oh, now he sees the tatoo is gone, he's gonna be pissed" but then nothing happens. He just doesn't notice it. What the flying fuck.

Oh whatever. The whole episode felt really contrived, it was straining to come up with some "no backsies" scenario.
>>
>>62935537
Every time I talk about wanting Jack back people are always saying that he can't/won't because he died as the face of bo

But that shit was like thousands of years later

Woah woah woah wait, I didn't watch much of torch wood so idk if they ever delved into how Jack became immortal, but what if they do a bit of retconning and make it so Jack is the person that ashildir gave the other immortality thing to. Prolly a dumb theory but it's 4am and I have insomnia so it sounds cool to me atm

It doesn't actually matter because at most she'll be in the finale for a cameo or something

But Jenna wanted to quit last year and they basically begged her to stay on iirc, so she's gone, whether she ded or not it's new companion time

There's still no solid info or believable tumors about who the new companion is? Last week tumors seemed to be ashildir, but after the doctors warning to her I'd be hard pressed to believe he's going to show her all of time and space

They already used that on Sam Swift the quick. They very likely wont ever bring him back, but the slight possibility that he may one day become a giant head would not be the thing to stop them.
