The Kenner Micro Collection (I think they only ran the series for ESB), was by far my favorite toy set from Star Wars. Small modular playsets with some basic mechanical contraptions for effects (blowing up shield generator, freezing Han Solo, breaking the Bespin Gantry window, etc.), with die-cast figurines, pretty fun set all-around. I prefered them to the regular Kenner action figures sets. The Bespin sets were awesome but the Hoth sets were good too. Wonder why they never did any for ROTJ or ANH, maybe they didn't sell too well.

There's no recognition for people like me who got into Star Wars hardcore from the 1997 re-release (I was 8-9 when I abandoned Jurassic Park VHS for the Star Wars VHS SE Trilogy VHS) and then were hyped for Phantom but suffered more because everyone assumed we'd love it being 10 / 11 years old but it sucked
Still liked the look of some prequel stuff but resented it a lot more. There are kids who grew up at optimum age for AotC though, those are the diehard prequel babbies I meet them regularly. Cartoons and toys sold it more and us 1997 kids were too old.

If I remember my old EU right it was the Duros (ayylmao looking guys) who originated/pioneered hyperspace travel.
KOTOR involves the Infinite Empire which predates all of that, but it's been in ruins for like 50,000 years.

There is a scene in the Phantom Menace when Obi-wan is freeing the Naboo pilots, and he is talking to a battledroid. The dialogue was so fucking stupid. The droid is like "oh... wait... YOU'RE UNDER ARREST". Lucas made them looked retarded , which was a huge mistake because they pose no threat at all the the characters. When you know the Jedi are in no danger, that the droids are completely stupid and just "cut through them like butter".... there is nothing interesting about that at all. Its just wasted time in a movie.
People complain the Stormtroopers in the original SW were just as bad because they could not hit anything with there shots, but at least Lucas didnt have them taking like fucking idiots, they were somewhat threatening, where the battledroids were not at all.

I get the feeling that Lucas' story ideas he gave Disney (that were rejected) would have finally introduced Deak as Luke's son. The orignal drafts of Star Wars had some cool shit that would have worked in a post-ROTJ world like the "knights of aquilae" being more militaristic/special ops. version of the Jedi. Moff Jerjerrod. He's the guy you see in the opening scene when Vader lands on the Death Star and questions the building progress.
He's basically a less ambitious version of Tahkin from ANH and while his official title is "Moff" he is the Death Star's commander and Vader even refers to him as such.
There are some deleted scenes with him that are neat and the script tells us that he has standing orders to turn the Death Star on Endor if the rebels succeed on the moon.
Palpatine wouldn't be speaking to some low-level gunner in that scene, he'd command the highest ranking official.
