As a black man of color I quite honestly will give a movie about 5 mins before I decide if the production is diverse enough for me to keep watching before I either turn off the flick or go for another pick.

In order to appreciate film, you need to be able to empathize with the characters and situations portrayed.
Black men are incapable of empathy, so the art is lost on them. Sure they'll briefly pay attention if there are explosions or flashing lights, but that is merely the reaction of a baby to a mobile or jingling keys and not a true observation of the artistic medium. It's like expecting a dog to marathon-watch a Netflix series.
That's why blacks spend most of their time in a theater talking and joking instead of watching the movie.
