ITT: Best films of 2015
Starting with pic related
It was a classic.
For me it's a tie between op's and Mr. Turner

the lobster and the assassin were fine, not great though

Youth was terrible, though.
>>62915451
>>62915471
Even better than La grande bellezza. also, Paul Dano instantly improve every film he's in
>>62915495
Blackhat was the least pleb english language film released this year.
>>62915495
Why you think you're a pleb? That's actually an accurate answer

>>62915451

Dont know if its released outside of Germany, but i think the book was a bestseller in many countries.
Was also very impressed by Steve Jobs.
But all in all 2015 was medicore.
Most fun to watch:San Andreas
>>62915718

>>62915886
>Why is this movie so well liked even though it has a 5.4 on imdb
There is a strong correlation between artistic masterpieces and movies that are hated by mainstream audiences. Having a negative IMDB rating is almost a prerequesite for being truly great cinema.
>>62915886
There is a small group of Internet non-mainstream critics who love Mann's approach to digital filmmaking. /tv/ just parrots their opinions.
>>62915718
I was about to start a thread about this one. It tries too hard to achieve the smooth fluidity of music, but the film is disjointed and lacks harmony. Interesting textures but a contrived and predictable mise en scene. Good attempt, but ultimately a failure.
Sicario
Ex Machina
>>62915979
slow as fuck movie
I really liked this one. It was better than Frances Ha.
>>62915480
>Mr. Turner
This
>>62915955
I usually don't trust imdb, but films under 6/10 are pure shit. They overrate most movies, so if a movie can't even get 6/10 on imdb, it truly is a piece of shit.
>>62915451
just wacthed it.fucking sorrentino know how to do it.
>them visuals
>that comfyness
now i'm looking forward to 'Lobster'.Torrent fucking when
>>62916022
haven't seen it yet but I like greta and baumbach
also hype for pic related
>>62916073
They overrate pleb sensibility movies. They get blown the fuck out by art films.
Add this to your list
>>62915886
Low IQ letterboxed movie buffs that don't actually know a thing about cinema besides parroting the great S only like it.
to be perfectly honest with you, family
Looking forward to
>Spotlight
>In the Heart of the Sea
>Carol
>(maybe) The Revenant
>>62916146
>dat pic
fucking disgusting
>>62916126
MA such a quick and easy watch but vintage Baumbach with characters being confronted head on by their shortcomings. Lola Kirke is fucking sexy.
>>62915886
Take it from a fan of Mann's movies. Blackhat is not good. It's dull and dreary, the characters have no personality, the writing is dull, and with the shaky cam and murky lighting, it's also visually unpleasant
>>62915495
>>62915564
>>62915758
>>62916010
This here is a cinema thread. moviefags need not apply
>>62916146
I saw that image and it was so literally reddit that I started shaking with rage so hard that my coffee started sloshing around on my desk and splashed onto my keyboard.
Just fuck off.
>>62916225
>Take it from a fan of Mann's movies.
You mean you're a Heat/Collateral pleb. Blackhat is his best film alongside Miami Vice and then Manhunter.
>>62915581
Pretty accurate senpai
Inherent Vice
>>62916258
I liked Miami Vice and loved Blackhat but Manhunter was not that good. I gotta give it to Silence of the Lambs for the better movie overall.
>>62915451
What a cast. Do you thing this is Paul Dano's year?
>>62916302
>I gotta give it to Silence of the Lambs for the better movie overall
Then your cinematic education has yet to even begin.
>>62916146
>>62916319
It's Paul Dano'sDecade
>>62916321
I thought you'd say something like that, so I will say this: Manhunter was a dull, dreary mess that doesn't build to any logical crescendo, so the final shootout is just a forced attempt at giving the audience some senseless bloodshed. Being a non-romantic cut and dry crime procedural with an unremarkable protagonist, it's tonally against everything Mann stands for and I'm glad he was humbled by the experience.
>>62916146
I'll give you one bag of popcorn. best i can do
i havent watched many movies this year
>>62916471
Literally reddit.
>>62916146
I liked Bridge of Spies.

>>62916565
>1.5x speed
