The way he used centered framing in his action sequences allows for quick cutting without a sense of confusion. By keeping your eyes on the center of the screen it allows for more action to be relayed to the audience with more clarity and in larger volumes without distressing the viewer. Add to that the rhythm and pacing of each individual action is impeccable as well. It one of the greatest edited films of all time and 80% of what make it great has to do with it

I don't think it's revolutionary, but it's some of the best editing of the last couple decades. it feels and flows like a kick ass heavy metal song or something. hollywood films these days are just going through the motions... there's no character, especially in the action genre. but beat for beat this film is perfect. it never gets dull, it moves quickly but it's not disorienting like a michael bay movie, and every action has some sort of purpose to progress the plot or strengthen character development.
