But the people who are smart use math and science and history to prove you wrong, but since the only source of information you have is the one you understand, you vehemently protect it. You stand strong, because standing up in the face of adversity is what makes someone strong. And you fight against the people attacking your beliefs.
And luckily, other people join you! In fact, MOST people join you, because they're sick of the smart people always getting away with winning arguments! "Show them John Stewart OWNING this person on cable TV, that'll shut them up!" "We should raise the minimum wage because people are poor!"
And when you finally win, you stand strong on your soapbox, looking out over the wonder you have created - a world without intelligence.
