> Love can travel through Black Holes
>>
It was a pretty decent movie until the 3rd act. Literally Shamylan-tier
>>
>>62905241
Third act is GOAT except the part at the space station at the end. You probably didn't like 2001 either.
>>
>>62905179
>Love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends time and space.
>>
>>62905264
I love 2001, it's my second favourite Kubrik film. The part with the magically book case took me out of the movie. It seemed to contradict it's logic set up earlier in the movie

overall, its a bad movie.

Dr Strangelove
>>
>don't you see, robit?
>this wasn't made by aliens it was made by a movie director as an opportunity for clumsy exposition
>hey murph, long time no see... welp, gotta go
>>
>>62905436
Not a bad choice.
>>
>>62905310
Why? It would contradict the logic earlier in the movie if he didn't find a way to send a message through spacetime.
>>
>>62905446
Humans from the future built a magic bookshelf so he can communicate with he daughter through gravity? Finding her because love is another dimension? Sending himself the coordinates to nasa, which is a paradox?

Nolan could have done it in a better way than this dumb nonsense
>>
This has even more dumbed down exposition than Inception. This just proves that Nolan thinks his audience are retarded

Fuck it I'm downloading this finally. I don't know why I've been putting it off for so long.

>Antagonist is Dr. Mann
>Mann
>man

That subtle metaphor. Nolan is saying that man's greatest enemy is himself. Nolan is operating on 2 different levels. Nolan a genius. He is the modern day Kubrik

I don't understand this shit. Love is just a human emotion like any other, not an inter-dimensional rule of existence. Nolan is a hack.

This movie felt like a really shitty attempt at recreating something like Contact or Royal Space Force from somebody who doesn't understand people well enough to create something profound, but had a general idea of what something moving should look like.

Is Nolan legit autistic or something? His movies have absolutely zero soul to them, but he still acts like an artist. Does he just do it to rip off plebs or is he really aiming for the biggest one since the silent era? Interstellar was so shit it made me angry.

>>62906244
He is legit autistic. He really does think his work is profound and masterpieces. Deep down his just a fan boy trying to hard to be Kubrik

He would be a good director if he stops this shit and makes movies like memento and the prestige instead of these big budget bullshit flicks
>>
>communites coordinates from the future
>doesn't communicate the formula directly

>time paradox, also

I saved this shit by assuming Clarkian aliens were behind this. Otherwise it literally makes no sense and doesn't work.

i think that bit in interstellar is the closest we'll ever get to a director doing a live action neon genesis evangelion 'third impact'

I'm pretty sure Nolanfags are retarded and he understands that. Its so good that a director make movies for the mentally disabled. Nolan is actually a nice guy that performs charity work. We've had the wrong idea about him. He isn't a hack, he's a philanthropist
>>
Comparable to Sunshine, also falls apart in third act, oddly.

Only difference is Nolan gave me feels like a motherfucker.

Nolan is the one guy that can make stuff I see as objectively flawed and yet I still feel.

Just wish they'd left alone that time paradox shit. Time travel never works. Unless it's a comedy.
>>
>>62906569

>saw Damon
>instantly thought he was an asshole
>Damon turns out to be one

I came to hate Damon and I don't know why. Probably his politics.
>>
>>62906620
You just reminded me how he couldn't work an airlock property in both Interstellar and The Martian
>>
>>62906880

And the theme is similar: Damon is left alone in some space base. As it should be.
>>
>>62906925
And Murph was his captain
>>
>>62906609
Fun fact about the time travel... It's kip thorne's fault. According to him the only way to escape a black hole is to time travel, or something.
>>
>>62905371
>he's a nihilistic edgy fedora kid
>>
>>62906172
You seemed to have missed the theme that love can transcend dimensions.
>>
>>62907381
Everyone goes out of their way to avoid that theme. As it makes love a fundamental force of the universe.
>>
>>62906172
But he's right . i love the plane scene .
This love transcends space since i can go to another and still love it and it transcends time because i loved it in the past and will love it in the future.

Love transcends space and time
>>
>>62907411
also u can't directly measure love, u can only measur it by it's interaction between 2 objects!

Just like gravity!

bravo nolan
>>
>>62907429
It is pottery
>>
>>62906609
The time travel bit isn't even the worst writing in the movie. The worst bit of writing in the movie is how it attempts to establish love as a fundamental force of the universe. Which you're required to accept as fact to get a picture of the original timeline.

what didn't you understand about it?
>>
>>62905269
I didn't understand this. If thats the case doesn't it apply to all emotion? Jealousy, hate, greed, ennui?
>>
>>62908258
Those don't pull people together.
>>
>>62906244
He very likely has Aspergers and not in the meme way, I mean full-on David Byrne Aspergers. He's known for having an extremely strict routine, dressing the same every day on set and stuff, is incapable of expressing realistic human emotions in his dialogue or understand the way most peoples' emotions work e.g. Cooper's son being totally forgotten about, and there's some hilarious stories about how strict he is with secrecy- he wouldn't even let Michael Caine alone with a copy of the Batman Begins script and made him read through it in full in front of him, then took it back and left with it.
>>
>>62907411
By that logic, so does hate, jealousy etc

>mfw I will never understand Nolans masterpiece, because I have never experienced love
>>
>>62908340
Love pulls people together and hate pushes them apart. Hate should work jus like love does. If there is attractions(love) there should also be repulsion(hate). Newton's third law, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
>>
>>62908543
Every "explosive" force is weaker than any attractive force. No explosive force can operate perpetually.
