Why does /tv/ shit on this movie so much? What don't you like about it? It has solid casting, quirky memorable characters, funny and absurd dialogue, nearly every line of dialogue is quotable, it has beautiful cinematography, and perfect pacing. It gets better and better upon each viewing. It's my favorite Coen brother's film. I love all their work. This movie is my absolute favorite. I'm 33. Is it just the younger millennials who don't like it? What is it about this film that warrants such an irreverent passionate hatred of it and dubbing it "The Big Memebowski."

Since when does /tv/ shit on it? I rarely see anything but love for it on here.
I actually didn't like it the first time I watched it, but it grew on me.
>>62898140
We don't like it because Reddit likes it. Anything Reddit likes we are obligated to dislike. If Redditors thought that the Big Lebowski was stupid we would praise it and call them plebs.
>>62898184
pretty much.
>muh precious contrarian opinion
The Big Lebowski is one of the greatest comedy films ever made
As a rule of thumb, all "cult films" are shit.
Nobody dislikes this film. People might pretend to hate it to seem cool, or they haven't watched it, or they have shit taste.
>taking /tv/'s opinions seriously
she kidnapped herself, man
>>62898140
/tv/ use to love this movie, but now they let reddit dictate their opinions.
Larry, have you ever heard of Vietnam?
>>62898289
that's just like... your opinion, man
>>62898140
1. It's a fun movie
2. Well like by everyone
3. Listening to /tv/ ever besides capeshit
4. Capeshit is trash

fuck off back to reddit
I like the that Walter was based on the guy who wrote Red Dawn.

Youngfags grew up on memes and testing, and they're teens so also contrarian by default. Combine that with a reddit mindset, and/or a thinking that 4chan must be the ying to that shithole's yang, and you get memeposting/shitposting and talking shit on anything popular on reddit so as to fit in here (in their minds). They either don't know or don't give a fuck that 4chan is supposed to be discussion without the constraints of identity instead of a fold to reddit. Just look at all the neo-conservatives posting lately.
>>62898184
Way to form your own opinion about it, chief.
>>62898184
If reddit admitted to liking oxygen, would you stop breathing?
>>62898360
Fucking this, all reddit has to do is like something and /tv/ suddenly knows what to think about it
>>62899061
>breathing
Back to Reddit

Shut the fuck up OP
>>62898173
I don't see it brought up much, but every time I've ever mentioned it multiple people shit on it.
Fuck /tv/, that's on the short list of funniest movies ever. It drags a little and the story gets a little messy as it goes on, but as a comedy it's one of the best.
AM I WRONG?
>>62898608
That's funny as hell if true

This might be a dumb question but how does /tv/ stay up to date without constantly perusing red.dit? How do they know what red.dit likes? It must follow that, in order to know what reddit likes and what is trending there, one must visit red.dit often. How else would /tv/ know? It seems like the people that say "hi red.dit" and "back to red.dit" are actually self-loathing red.ditors themselves. Which brings me to my next point: if you hate reddit so much, why are you obsessed with it? /tv/ seems to have some sort of paranoid psychosis that everything and everyone is red.dit. I don't understand this paranoid obsession with red.dit.

It is. Obviously his personality traits are exaggerated, but Walter was based on John Milius.
>>62898737
Not like us oldfags right my fellow anon who has been here for over a decade?
>not accepting that this place is a fucking cess pool
>>62898289
The history behind "cult films" is interesting. It's like a movie that wasn't successful but a bunch of autists became obsessed with it.
Who the fuck are the K'nutsons?!
>>62898289
shut the fuck up, donny
