Hate? Nah, there's not much hate... the original TRON isn't considered a cult classic for nothing – I think it's perfectly possible to appreciate the movie's achievements in earnest and view its campiness as rather endearing.
TRON: LEGACY on the other hand, is a bit problematic in that a lot of peopel just felt rather disappointed. The movie just has too many weaknesses to overlook – lack of character development, a story arc that sags towards the middle and is pretty darn predictable anyway etc.
But man is it a good-looking movie! Best looking CGI-heavy movie I can think of

The writing is kind of lackluster, but its so engaging anyway that Im willing to forgive it.
This film has GOAT direction, Cinematography, sound design, art direction, costumes, choreography, and even the fucking makeup is good. Its just a visual treat.

I think CG Bridges was great. Some scenes were clearly deep down in the uncanny valley, but some others worked, and overall I appreciate the performance. If there was one movie where such a thing should have been tried, it was this one. Everything looks digital.
