Did you cry?
>>
Yes. I'm not ashamed that I did.
>>
No, I think it sucks
>>
No, shit movie
>>
>>62886635
movie blew hamfisted chunks of ass, Pixar a shit
>>
Yes.
I wasn't expecting much since a lot of shit pixar has done lately was disappointing to say the least, but this movie had it where it counted
>>
Yes.
>>
>>62886635
no, but I really liked the movie
>>
>falling for pixars cheap feels bullshit
>>
Yes, a lot
>>
Nah, but it made me feel like shit.
>>
>>62886635
Yes but only because it reminded me of my childhood. Decent movie, not great.
>>
>>62886804
Bing Bong going didn't feel thay cheap desu. I thought it was really well done.
>>
>>62886635
I really liked the relatable parts of this movie, but I think the adventure inside the head itself wasn't that good.
>>
no?

interesting way to talk about memories and brains though
>>
>>62887287
A lot of Pixar's films end up devolving into a pretty simple road trip.

That said I feel like Inside Out's 'adventure' was a lot more interesting and creative than say the adventure in Up.
>>
>>62887360
I think honestly that Up should have been a short film. The first ten minutes are great and everything after feels tacked on
>>
Honestly it was the first Pixar film that disappointed me.

BingBong was more annoying and weird than loveable for me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

>>
>>62887411
Arguably truer with walle

Maybe not a short film but they needed to find a place to go with the second half, and fat people in space certainly wasn't it
>>
No, it was incredibly overrated with several easier ways to solve the plot.

>>62886666
Quads confirm.
>>
Riley a cute
>>
Yesfucking Bing bong
>>
>>62886635
It was a reasonably enjoyable movie but I didn't come close to crying. Kinda felt obvious.

Kinda got emotional at the end of Toy Story 3 when it first came out, mainly because I grew up with the movie and was like the same age Andy was supposed to be in it. But still didn't cry.

Fags
>>
>>62887737
>Honestly it was the first Pixar film that disappointed me.
Not Cars 2?
>>
>>62887360
I really didn't like Up. I think it was way to goofy and unsubstantial. It's one of my least favorite Pixar movies including Cars and Brave.
>>
No. Way too predictable, lacked conviction for me. This movie is for kids who grew up in a perfect little bubble sheltered from the world by mommy and daddy.
>>
This movie was a bit strange. Couldn't see myself getting emotional over a movie about emotions, but I sure did cry at the Lego Movie.
>>
>>62888616
Which part of the Lego Movie did you cry at? The dad part?
>>
>>62888570
>This movie is for kids who grew up in a perfect little bubble sheltered from the world by mommy and daddy.
You mean kids with good parents?
>>
>>62886635
was hoping to cry but didn't.
Still liked it.
>>
>>62888687
He's obviously non-white. No need to respond to it.
>>
>>62888716
>was hoping to cry
Do people actually go into movies with this mindset? Why?
>>
no because i thought elephant dude was going to be revealed as obsessed evil guy

also why its just 5 feelings?where is hatred, envy, admiration, greed, lazyness etc?

Yep. Caught me off guard.
>>
>>62888687
>>62888717
Damn, anon is right.
>>
Not really, I'm getting bored of Pixar's 'five minutes to make you cry'. They're getting increasingly mawkish and they're starting to write the entire films as vehicles for them.

It's Pixar's WHAT A TWEEST.

So what's the 5 minutes going to be The Good Dinosaur? Maybe they'll talk about how they're not lonely any more or how they're each other's family?
>>
>>62888768
>here is hatred,envy,admiration,greed,lazyness etc?
I'm guessing a lot of those and other feelings could be side effects/related to the others.

Like hatred and greed could come from anger or disgust. Laziness could come from sadness.
>>
>>62887360

The problem I had with Inside Out is that I wanted a film of what we saw in the trailer/credits. I wanted a funny story of battling emotions. Not another buddy roadtrip movie.

It's Up mk.2

I wanted an old man going on adventures in his flying house, not 10 minutes of flying and an hour of them wandering around protecting a bird.
>>
>>62886635
>more than a feeling starts playing

Jesus christ
>>
>>62886635
yep. like a little bitch
>>
I felt bad for Imaginary Guy but that's it.

Nothing tops Iron Giant feels
>>
>>62887411

I think Pixar just have writers that aren't willing to take risks or lack the skill to tell a simple but original story.

They come up with a high-concept pitch then give up on it 1/3rd into their film, it falling back into a more standard story.
>>
>>62886635
No because its a fucking kids movie i ended up having to see it with my niece. Aside from it being a fucking kids movie I found the constant whininess of the whole movie irritating. It was extremely self sorry.
>>
>>62887360
>A lot of Pixar's films end up devolving into a pretty simple road trip.

Holy fuck, can not unsee...
>>
>>62886635
I cried because I wasted money to buy the ticket for this piece of shit.
>>
>>62888858
You realize they've always been emotionally manipulative terrible writers?
Their movies have always sucked.
>>
>>62889461
except the incredibles

that movie was good
>>
>>62889507
I'll give you that one. Just a good pulpy adventure with some tacked on emotional depth.
>>
>>62886635
I cried like a child, yes.
>>
>>62886635
My wife's son had a tear in his eye but he tried to be brave and not show it, was adorable
>>
>>62888743
Whats wrong with going into a movie hoping that it would give you an emotional response?
>>
No but I binged my bong to how hot Joy was

yes, yes I did. I really enjoyed the film so I bought a sadness doll. It says funny phrases from the movie when you press a button on her stomach.

For the fuzzies

Why would any adult even watch this

Nothing but why would you actively WANT to cry? Like how easy going must one's life be to actually HOPE they have a reason to cry by the end of the day?

Thought it was sad when the father said he missed wherever the fuck they originally lived. I didn't find Bing Bong sad at all. I was surprised because I thought he was going to turn out to be evil or some shit.

it hit too close to me, man. i didn't enjoy it very much since it just made me kind of anxious.

i kept thinking about all the islands of friends i've had that have since collapsed into ash.
>>
I want to see a sequel being made about her teenage years dealing with a major depression plus a suicide attempt
>>
>>62886635
This is the only Pixar movie I havent watched except that abortion that is Cars2.
Is it worth it? I got the impression they really dumbed it down for kids, or maybe it's the subject that's making me assume that
>>
>>62886666
I thought it was nice but damn these quads are hard to argue against
>>
No, but the beginning of Up did

No
Regrets
>>
>>62890733
I had the same impression and Was pleasantly surprised

It's good for a kid movie
It's weak for a pixar movie

There is also nothing sjw/tumblr about it, if that was the worry

It's actually an adventure movie, 70% of the flick is about trying to get home
>>
>>62886635

Never saw it :^)
>>
>>62888986
Finding nemo was the original road trip buddy
>>
>>62890901
ok, I'll give it a try. hard to do it though while I have much better movies still to watch, oh well...
>>
>>62890733
it centers around a girls happy healthy life that all changes when she moves
>>
>>62886635
No. But did you fap?
>>
>>62886635
No, I was pretty disappointed after a lot of people, and people with very different tastes, hyped me about this. Maybe I was expecting dealing with extreme feelings, not the portrait of a little girl and her overrated feelings. Don't get me wrong, is not like I don't understand her, but it wasn't the big deal I thought it was going to be.
>>
I wanted them to murder Sadness in the beginning. Also, tears when imaginary friend started fading.
>>
TRIPLEDENT GUM
>>
I cried, like a fucking bitch. I didn't even like the movie that much but it hit me in the gut a few times and I teared up.

Also, the animation in the movie...holy shit it's fucking amazing, it's just on another level.

I wish pixar would do adult shit. Like...a short for the Animatrix or something by pixar would be unbelievable.
>>
Nope, just wanted to fuck Disgust.
>>
>>62890723
Me too, well maybe not quite that dark but something to that direction.
>>
>>62886635

Just finished it and yes, Bing Bong made me cry. The movie made me think about how I look from inside out. What kind of fuzzy feelings are controlling me? I guess it's mostly extreme sadness in the form of depression.

The whole deal with Bing Bong was sad but wasn't actually the thing that really made me cry, it was just the general mood. This loss of innocenve crap really hits me. The movie made it feel like Joy really wasn't needed anymore and adult life is governed by Sadness.
>>
>>62891979
Or anger.

Was there a single adult with Joy as their "prime" emotion?

>suicide attempt

2edgy for me. I could see a depression plotline, but maybe not outright dealing with killing yourself. Maybe self-destructive habits, but remember this IS a kid's movie, it can't get too X-TREEM
>>
>>62891979
Yeah, if you notice in the mom's head sadness seemed like the top nigga, the dad was anger. They don't even try to hide it.

Also I didn't cry but I almost did at the end just because I've never felt comforted. Medication doesn't even help as much anymore. It made me yearn to be able to confide and be comforted by someone.
>>
>>62892040
Suicidal thoughts are a prevalent part of everybody's life starting at adolescence. Nothing "edgy" about it. It would be dishonest to make a film about this subject matter without addressing it.
>>
>>62892105
Thoughts are one thing entirely, everyone has those "what if I wasn't around" thoughts. But anon mentioned a suicide attempt. There's a reeeeeal big difference between thinking "I'm worthless and people would be better off without me" and an animated tween attempting to OD or hang themselves in a goddamn Pixar film
