Roger Moore IS James Bond.
Not even close.
>>62883234
I liked his looks
but was never sold on his voice
Too "pretty". Never looked intimidating or badass.
THE James Bond
The OTHER James Bond
>>62883234
Nah. Damn good Simon Templar, though.
>>62883234
It's a mental struggle to watch his movies and tell myself that he's James Bond. Putting aside any questions about who the better actor is, I found Lazenby more convincing.
That said, everything I've heard about Moore seems to indicate he's a true gentleman. I'd love to hear him tell some stories about his career.
I watched the two Dalton movies and then tried to follow them up with Live and Let Die... couldn't do it.
moore & connery. that's it.
I always got a "I can't believe I'm being paid for this schlock" vibe from his bond movies.
Which wasn't always bad, when they were going for comedic effect.
True, but it's difficult to distinguish his performance as Bond from The Saint which dilutes his legacy a smidge.
Definitely my favourite Bond. I don't think it's possible to make the films as camp as Roger Moore did while still convincingly playing Bond.

>Roger Moore IS THE WORST James Bond.
Fixed it. Worst Bond, worst Bond movies.
I grew up with him being THE Bond. His 007 was the joke-telling, women-loving, fourth-wall-breaking guy who relied into Q in his efforts.
Physically he felt sometimes weak, especially in a fight against Jaws. He was an aging gentleman adventurer after all.
>>62883338
>>62883350
Only these are the good choice.
Daniel Craig - Pleb
Timothy Dalton - Hipster*
Connery/Moore - Patrician
*having to explain why hes the best Bond because he resembles the book Bond is pathetic
>Sean Connery
The king of cinematic Bond. Women want to be with him, men want to BE him.
>George Lazenby
One hit wonder in OHMSS.
>Roger Moore
The funniest Bond. The 70s was a weird time.
>Timothy Dalton
Ahead of its time. Realistic and cold Bond.
Craig of the late 80s.
>Pierce Brosnan
The first "modern" and 90s Bond. Has a mix of everyone else's personality.
>Daniel Craig
Bourne Identity type shit. No more fancy gadgets, one-liners or fucking bitches.
Craig is an ugly cold brute.
He's not in From Russia With Love or Casino Royale, so no.
I wish the bond franchise was re-rebooted back into the campy moore era, complete with underground bases and armies of jumpsuit wearing minions
Woody Allen IS James Bond.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsQiA9cAaBM
Moore's films had the best opening themes.
The way I see it, there are 2 categories of Bond.
>Ian Fleming's Bond
Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig
>Cinematic Bond
Sean Connery and Roger Moore
As for Brosnan and Lazenby, they are garbage.
Pierce brosnan was the best to be honest family
>>62883978
>90s babby
>>62883521
>Dr.Goodhead
Gotta love dem names
>>62883821
The idea of large minions attacked by soldiers lead by 007 was always nice. Bond could concentrate on the baddie then
>>62883234
poor dude.
>>62883488
You forgot to add Brosnan to your goat 007 list.
1. Sean Connery
2. Timothy Dalton
3. Daniel Craig
4. Roger Moore
5. George Lazenby
6. Pierce Brosnan
Brosnan is overrated. His movies aged like shit.
The only thing he has going for him are the 007 video games.
>>62883234
His run was the absolute low point of the series. Plus he was in his mid 40s when he started playing Bond.
>>62883234
Always liked Moore he looks like my Granddad.
>>62885491
>The only thing he has going for him are the 007 video games
Only two of which are actually good.
I don't fucking think so faggot.
This guy actually read the books and knows how Bond really is.
He also did his own stunts.
He kicked ass & played the part.
Pierce just had a lot explosions happen around him.
Craig is great, but suave?
gentlemen, what are you doing in my wardrobe? trying to relive the glory days eh? come on, shoo
>>62883234
It's a pity that he was thrown in some crappy installments. That being said, he did have two solid movies:
>The Spy Who Loved Me
>For Your Eyes Only
Whenever I see Moore playing Bond, I just see my dad.
>>62883234
That Boyega kid would make a good James Bond in a few years, even if to just watch /tv/ go apeshit.
Boyega should be the next James Bond and the next Spiderman.
>>62885626
One movie.
One.
At that rate we need to throw in James Coburn for fuck sake.
>>62885626
Dalton's Bond seemed irritated all the time.
There was no variety in his performance and he brought nothing exciting to the table.
Even fucking Lazenby had more character to the role than him.
Best villain coming through.
>>62883539
CAN'T DODGER THE ROGER
>>62885743
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXM4eIoPZUU
An experienced secret agent that knows he can die any moment.
He plays it perfectly.
Moore/Connery's portrayal of Bond is unrealistic, it's pure fantasy.
>>62885749
She's had her kicks
1.) Dalton
2.) Moore
3.) Connery
4.) Craig
5.) Lazenby
6.) Brosnan
What puts Moore above Connery is range in performance, the end of OHMSS puts GL out of last. Brosnan was good in first 2 but writers killed him in last 2
>>62885846
So writers determine which Bond is best?
>>62885626
>liking welsh bond
>>62885823
>muh Bourne Identity shit
007 = gadgets, martini, hot girls and funny deaths
>>62885956
Pretty much a combination of writers, actor and producers. Dalton would've never become bond had he and cubby hadn't come to an understanding of taking bond back to the book style
>>62885993
No. Bond was always intended to be like what Dalton and to a lesser extent Craig would become.
Also he had a ton of gadgets (best car, explosives), great set peices (the plane scene, gerbralter, tanker chase, the plane hijack in LTK), also he gave villians the boot

Moore was someone's weird lame old uncle playing at James Bond, whose fucking idea was it to get this guy in as 007?
the most unrealistic thing in his films was young babes lusting after some fossil
Anyone who says Dalton didn't have range clearly never actually payed attention to the movies.
He could eggy really pissed off, actually sweet and romantic (TLD with Kara at the carnival and the end of LTK), sarcastic, manipulative, and even funny in a less showy way (why didn't you learn the violin)
If anything, Connery was the one who showed the least range, even Moore in FYEO and TSWLM showed he could be pissed and brutal
>>62883234
To be fair with you, The Spy Who Loved Me is one of the best Bond films.
>>62886153
Moore has a gentlemanly sex appeal.
Like a sophisticated charmer.
Connery was pure alpha and testosterone. He simply grabbed bitches and fucked them.
>>62885749
There are literally people who don't think the first two Bond films, Dr. No and From Russia With Love, aren't two of the best Bond films ever.
>>62886213
Didn't he turn a lesbian straight in goldfinger?
>>62886213
>Connery was pure alpha and testosterone. He simply grabbed bitches and fucked them.
Women knew their place in the 60s.
It was no problem slapping women to remind them who's in charge.
If any of those movies were made today, feminists would be in arms over it.
Connery's Bond = every man's fantasy
>>62886302
Is that some Margaret Nolan? Underrated.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QFnMw3fi0M
What do you guys think of SPECTRE going back to the classic 007 formula?
Either way Casino Royale remains #1
1. Connery
2. Early Moore
3. Dalton
4. Craig
5. Brosnan
6. Lazenby
7. Late Moore
>>62886302
Actually women desire to be dominated.
>>62883234
Moore was great in Live and Let Die, after that he just looked like a bag of potatoes trying to fuck women half his age.
>>62887056
Moore looked much younger than Connery, despite being actually older. I think was able to pull of being Bond well until Octopussy. Even he acknowledges that his final film was just too far.
Have a look at Connery in The Man Who Would Be King, and he looks very old indeed.
>>62887288
I always felt like Timothy Dalton should've done A View To A Kill.
Moore's Bond just didn't fit in the mid 80s.
>>62883625
>moore
>patrician
Fuck no
>>62883671
>Daniel Craig
>No more fancy gadgets, one-liners or fucking bitches.
What is Spectre
>>62885491
>putting Lazenby anything but list
Contrarian much?
>>62885703
Dalton was in two movies you idiot.
And even if it was only one it doesn't change the fact that he played Bond better than Moore.
>>62885993
>muh bond movies
James Bond is first and foremost a literary character. Therefore Roger Moore played him horribly wrong.
>>62886349
>What do you guys think of SPECTRE going back to the classic 007 formula?
It didn't return to anything.
It was in the middle and was shit in every regard.
>one gadget, pretty bland one
>shitty villians
>no cool one-liners aside from M's
>action is shot badly
>story is dumb as rocks, but presents itself like it's some sort of shakesperian shit
>opening titles were laughable and title song was bad
Even competent actors didn't salvage it.
>>62885993
>>much Bourne Identity shit
>comparing Dalton Bond to Bourne Identity
Do you even read posts before responding to them?
>>62888056
Lazenby is a great brawler.
>you will never get to slap women like Sean Connery did
>>62883234
I literally thought Roger Moore was homosexual until last week.
Thanks dad/Boat Trip
>>62888283
Some women like a bit of a slap now and again, you just have to find the right one.
