Lost any interest in him when he has a feminist author on his show, he pretty much kissed her feet while she declared NASA as a "white man's only" club throughout the 60's.

Don't you have a University safe space to run to when you can't handle the banter?

I personally like the fact that he focuses on politics so much, but I can see the typical late night viewers wanting him to talk more about celebrities and doing funny "hip hop skits" or whatever the fuck Fallon does.
>>
>>62883279

yeah, Colbert shouldn't be ashamed about being 3rd in the ratings, his show isn't for the usual plebs who want to see Mr. fake-laugh doing his ebin lipsync battles

I cant understand it either. Kimmel is ok, but Fallon is just a retard doing retarded stuff.

He doesn't seem happy. It's like he only took the job because it was a famous position and it would give him a lot of money but it just doesn't look like he's really having fun.

>Maybe if women and minorities were greater visionaries that would be higher.

What greater vision do you need than sending people to another planet in our solar system?

The truth is that the government doesn't care about space exploration anymore because the US doesn't have a competitor like the Soviet Union, the whole space race was just a dick-waving contest.
Also the economy in the 1960's was flourishing and people looked bright into the future so there was more money to spend on things like NASA. If nowadays the government would announce they'd spend more than $100 billion on space exploration the voters would go apeshit yelling "Durr how dare they give so much money to NASA instead of creating jobs and fixing the economy!"

i love Craig but he would have tanked in the ratings even worse than Colbert. His style of humour would never work with a mainstream audience.
>>
I intended to follow Colbert over, but after watching a few minutes of the first episode the pace killed everythng for me.
You could tell everything was open ended to fill time and made the jokes fall flat, especially when quickly followed by another of the same tone.

Anyway i hope he gets over his Old school TV fetish and returns to Comedy Central for Colbert Report 2.0
>>
first week felt like he was trying to accomplish something but then it just became regular late night formula

still don't understand why anyone would watch fallon though, it's the same tired formula shit except dumber
>>
The Hunger Games segments are fucking awful and shameless sponsored content now that the movie is about to come out. Notice how he's also talking about Star Wars every single night too.
>>
>>62883031
Larry Wilmore should take over for him.
>>
he's been having excellent guest lineups that arent the standard boring AF actor, actor, band and he's an excellent interviewer, if anything they need to cut down on the comedy segments and go all in on the interviews.
>>
>>62886651

He already has very little comedy segments compared to other late night shows.

It's usually:
4-5 minutes opening monologue
10 minutes talking about politics at his desk
15 minutes first guest
10 minutes second guest
5 minutes music performance
>>
>>62883410
5.9 Billion in 1960 adjusted for inflation is 47.4 Billion in 2015.

18 Billion today would worth 2.2 Billion in 1960.
>>
>>62885054
this
also the millenial pandering memerific le reference jokes obviously not written by him just sound fucking awful coming from him because he looks like a dignified man in his 50s. I don't know how much younger Fallon really is, but Fallon does come off as a manchild so the same jokes coming from him do not sound as insincere (that's what I'm guessing since I refuse to watch a single second of Fallon's shit)
>>
>>62883031
He really needs to stop attempting to emulate the report and just be himself without the total liberalism bull

Are there seriously people who use the internet that aren't liberal? I've assumed all these conservatives are trolling.

It's like... How can you be online where information and facts are at the touch of your fingertips and somehow believe that abortion is bad, guns for everyone is good, or gay people are faking it, or that minimum wage is for highschoolers?

I mean, fuck, I know I'm a hippie, but is there a person alive who doesn't realize that socialism and legalization if drugs and sex are the only possible direction for things to go?

You have to be stupid to think O'Reilly or Trump have good ideas. Last decent Republican was Barry Goldwater. Just a bunch of religion-pandering facists who don't understand what facism is...

John Oliver, Bill Maher, and Jon Stewart are literally the most ACCURATE news sources in the nation... Since the so-called "liberal news" doesn't actually fucking exist.

Hate those liberal talking heads all you want. Prove them wrong, you can't.

>How can you be online where information and facts are at the touch of your fingertips and somehow believe that abortion is bad, guns for everyone is good, or gay people are faking it, or that minimum wage is for highschoolers?

The problem is that you actually think politicians care about these issues, instead of just using them to sway emotional, surface-level voters. You probably think that all those Republicans really do believe in Jesus.

It's all about money and foreign policy. The rest is just theatrics for the sake of the election. Republicans are savvy, cynical, shameless manipulators when it comes to that side of things, and it can definitely leave a bad taste in your mouth. But when it comes to the actual major responsibilities of a politician, they're usually a bit more grounded and aware of reality.

They make a big deal of their opinions during debates, but at the end of the day, these social issues are decided by the people and by the courts. The President has very little to do with it.

SJWs make being liberal look awful.

Why did Colbert do this? Late Night is nearly dead, and the only people doing well are human memes. You cannot do the old-style charming banter and musings. Is he just a complete idiot and thought this was a good direction for his career? Or was he given so much money it didn't matter if he was out of a job in five years?
>>
>>62884802
Can you dress up and be my Marty? I'll be very romantic, but also a little mean.

Yes, the way the internet is set up, you can confirm and reinforce any bias. Everything you agree with is right, everything you don't agree with is propaganda, and everything else doesn't exist.

He'd be better if he at least tried to not be turbo liberal. I tried watching his premiere and I didn't actually finish it because it's boring so now I occasionally record episodes if someone interesting is being interviewed. Never watched late night shows before either so idk if they're all boring.
