One thing that took me out of the movie is Hamada, an Asian leading an elite killing squad. I mean, where the hell have you seen an asian lead a bunch of killers? I can get that the lead scientist is asian since they're smart and stuff but an asian lead in an elite kill team? c'mon. totally took me out of the movie

Why the fuck would you think dinosaurs would be a good "weapon"? Sure in 1v1 combat they'd possibly win.

But guess what? If I know I'm fighting an army with dinosaurs (fucking kek) I'm rolling around in tanks and armoured vehicles, with claymores on top and bushmaster canons and tearing the dinos a new butthole.

It's like an imaginative 7 year old decided army men would want a dino army. Fucking weak
>>
>>62881705
there's more to warfare than how many tanks and claymores you can use

domesticated dinos would be pretty god damn efficient infantry. don't forget we've used dogs in war before.

Haven't seen it since theaters but IIRC the camoflague wasn't intentional and just a side effect of one of the DNA's they used
>>
>>62882001
dinos would be able to be used in more roles, being smarter, more agile, bigger, smaller in some cases, etc, and they would be domesticated if army dude got his way

i just don't think you're thinking of the real utility of them, since warfare is more than dudes running across an open field at eachother with the deciding factor being who has more 'LAVs'
>>
>>62881235

this film went through an archetypal 'development hell' with like 4 rewrites, fights over who gets writing credits, and the diretor/writer (always a bad combo) colin trevorrow claims he 'toned it down'!!!

even if they are near useless, they are not people, and thus expendable in infinite numbers. You can fight a war forever if you never have to show any coffins to your people
>>
>>62881077
Well, the main idea of the first Jurassic Park is about small fails in the project leading to great disaster, so...
>>
>>62881936
The original didn't. In Jurassic Park everything went wrong because they were constantly cutting costs and making do with subpar systems. Hammond's, "We spared no expense," was total bullshit. And ultimately, Hammond's refusal to pay Nedry more is what lead to his defection.

Jurassic World has an ultra high tech park were they really didn't spare any expense, and the only reason anything goes wrong is because all the people who are supposed to be intelligent are constantly acting like complete idiots.

>>
>>62882200

>>
>>62882031
Do you realize how stupid this sounds? Dinosaurs are not some impossibly unique breed of animal. If animals were useful for all these different things, we have plenty of intelligent animals that aren't extinct we could train for these roles. That we don't do that should clue you into how ridiculous the idea is.
>>
>>62882235
lmao we don't have anything close to Jurassic Park style velociraptors
especially with their level of cunning where they outsmart people with guns
so desperate to sound smart.... but ends up sounding so stipid
>>
>>62882031
You can't domesticate an animal in one generation, so you're looking at years and years of selective breeding.

And by that point I'm going to have even more advanced weapons, as well as drones and air assets.

>>62882210
I'm just going to park my vehicles in open fields, why would I go into any terrain that requires close quarters combat?

Its like you guys don't even know military tactics
>>
>>62882090

I wish they'd gone with that. I was hyped when I saw the concept art for that years ago. A much better idea than this "kek use undomesticated raptors as military dogs of war!" horseshit
>>
>>62882261
They're literally just pack animals with basic problem solving skills. They don't outsmart people. They hunt them. Sometimes they win. There is nothing novel about this.
>>
>>62882261

Oh, god, you're one of those people who overrates raptors as being a pack of Stephen Hawkings with bigger teeth and working legs, aren't you?
>>
>>62882003

What the fuck was that worker guy doing in there? Why did he come in?
>>
>>62882317
>>62882298

but they are not people.
think of them as organic UAV's... their utility would be their expendability. who gievs a fuck about a genetically modified hybrid? no one, certainly no one in any military. if they could do ANY job, it would be preferable to sending humans, as humans have a tendency to die in war, and people at home tend to not like that. dinos would reduce that problem
>>
>>62882133
Why would you think ISIS or the taliban are going to develop dinosaurs?

This would be a developed and advanced country, so a large scale war
>>
>>62882345
I don't know about we, but I found you to be a condescending little bitch who doesn't have shit to say.

>>

>>
>>62882334

There was also a scene where raptors broke out onto a tennis court. I guess they cut it in favour of only having 4 raptors in the entire park.

https://youtu.be/drWMnWPCAw4?t=63
>>
>>62882364
My silly friend, I figured the US would be using the dinosaurs to combat ISIS or the Taliban. They are, after all, the military in the movie.
>>
>>62881077

You know else would have worked?

Remembering that there have been at least three instances where genetically modified dinosaurs started fucking shit up and eating people and not building a dinosaur theme park.
>>
>>62882364

I'll admit it. Female raptors force to wear burqas would be something I'd watch
>>
>>62882336
>Tell me what comes close
Comes close to what? It's just an animal. Pick any other pack hunter and you have essentially the same thing.

>>62882362
So would glassing any and every target there was. We don't have human casualties because we must, but because we've ruled out alternatives. Sending in wild animals (to do what even?) is the stupidest alternative I've ever heard

yeah but the irex is made out to be a super predator that is intelligent - it persuaded the raptors to turn remember? its capable of communicating and influencing other animals, this is no dog.

Obviously if you take the movie's retarded version of dinosaurs seriously, it would work. I thought we were discussing how ludicrous that idea was to include from the start.

>>62881146
Why did they make the dinosaurs male and female in the original movie if they wanted to prevent breeding?

>>
>>62882562

They didn't. They used tree frog DNA to fill in some of the gaps of the dinosaurs' genetic code, but didn't realize the breed of tree frogt was hermaphroditic.

What? She literally tells Chris Pratt "I'm going to call and see what's going on." And then instead of calling, she steps outside, gets in her car, makes the phone call. A few minutes later the nerdy dude tells her "yeah it's still in the cage." Had she made that call without leaving, Chris Pratt and the security guard would've most likely stayed out of the cage while she was on the phone

Wouldn't it have made more sense for the I-Rex to be the military dinosaur (it's an unstoppable killing machine) and the raptors to be a trained exhibit for the park (like lion trainers at a circus)

I mean...it seems kind of obvious right??
