It was kind of a funny scene anyway where Kirk can't tell them apart because he is mildly racist or something.
The first trek movie had nice character bits even if the plot was stupid. It suffered from over reliance on cgi for extended action sequences which get tedious and slow down the pacing of a movie but that's true of every modern blockbuster
The second trek was just awful
