I just finished all 8 episodes of the 19th season of South Park and holy shit, can we all agree this is the best season in a long while?
South Park general, I guess
>>62871905
it's a good season but do we really need a thread about SP every fucking hour?
>>62871951
Watch your micro aggressions, brah
Last season was funnier but this season is more dramatic, I'm curious to see where they take it
Oddly, I loved Season 18 and thought it was among the best in the series.
19 has been lackluster to me, but I seem to be in the minority.
>south park
pleb shit
There was definitely a boost in quality, I think it came from just trying to do something a little different. Last season got super stale and I came close to dropping it altogether.
>another shill thread
I want whoever broadcasts this stale shit to go desu
>>62871951

Its getting the the way of 7 starwars threads
Its getting hard to shill movies when people keep talking about tv shows on here

Comedy Central should just flood the Internet with "sponsored content" ads all over the place and have them link to shitty other ad websites
Would be marketing genius
>>62871980
Probably a meta joke about releasing a new South Park game.

>Oddly, I loved Season 18 and thought it was among the best in the series.
Opinions are opinions, but I really want to step into the mind of people who post shit like this. I just don't understand how you can even compare the shit in that season to season 3-9 episodes, much less suggest it was the best of anything.
Friendly reminder: if you think this is the greatest season it's because it appeals to your shitty half-baked ideologies. South Park hasn't been so heavy handed in a while, nothing of substance in these new seasons. Low Hanging Fruit: The Cartoon.

The first half of this episode was basically a 10 minute long #notyourshield tweet.
I'm wondering what the hell happened. South Park has been wrong before, but not this wrong for this long. It's like between this and the last season Matt and Trey have had the worst kind of epiphany. I'm at the point to where I'm turning to my younger brother during every episode and asking him "you know this is bullshit, right". To make sure he's not falling into the same traps I did when I was his age. I'm seriously considering not watching anymore.

This has been their most pointed and funny season ever, and its coming off of seven straight seasons of mediocrity. This is what happens when they have an interest in what they're satirizing, same thing happened with Book of Mormon when they did that. Hopefully they can find something this important to themselves next season.

>dat Semen Pie episode

Weird. I actually like modern Family Guy more than SP. The jokes might occasionally be outright terrible but at least they attempt to make about a dozen of fresh jokes per episode, and they also have an enjoyable way of structuring the story which leaves me contempt when it ends.
SP nowadays is just overly streched shitty joke that's not in any way clever or imaginative, and the stories are uninteresting and hardly ever do I get the feeling that there was a story that actually interested me and was resolved in some way. Not including the latest episode, I'm just left with the feeling "that's it?".
What bothers me is that in ancient times Parker would have gotten inspiration from the SJW movement to write an episode, and not spend the whole god damn fucking season displaying the actual movement itself for no apparent reason other than for the sake of having a trendy theme in SP. There would've been an episode where militant PC type of guy comes to town to terrorise and at the end of the episode, it would've been resolved in some manner. This new way of doing things is simply not funny or interesting in any way and it makes me cringe when people are praising the season because "durr sjw BTFO LOL, fug off SJW warrior".
>>62872129

I can see you saying Safe Space is bad if you're a dyed-in-the-wool SJW, but the other two can be enjoyed even if you remove the PC Culture context.
The people impressionable enough to buy into PC culture are literally the lowest hanging fruit for admakers. Not to mention they're generally middle/upper class white slacktivists looking to make the loudest statement with the smallest emotional investment.

>Naughty Ninjas
Tee, hee. Boys want to play ninjas and others mistake them for ISIS, tee hee. Also something about cops going on a strike because they're underappreciated and something irrelevant about Buttbaby. South Park S1 is targeted towards a 10-12yo.
Each year the targeted demo is increased by a year. Meaning Season 19 has humor a 29-31yo would find funny.
Since the majority of 4chan is 16-20yo, it's no surprise they like the younger-demo-skewing seasons, i.e. the older ones. Grow up, and maybe you'll find the humor in what they're doing nowadays.

This. the first two seasons were pretty bad honestly. minus a couple good ones. The show didn't hit it's stride until 3-11 or so. then after than it's had some truly amazing individual episodes, even half a season worth.
it wasnt until this season that i've seen round table agreement that this season is pretty great. the only people who don't like it are ppl who secretly have SJW thoughts but are too pussy to say them so this show bothers them for some subconscious reason. OR they ARE SJW's and are getting their jimmies rustled anyway.

The way they portrayed ads is pretty good, but it's ridiculous to claim that adblock doesn't work. It does and it does so very well.

Very true, but most saga episodes are like that. Maybe not to the same extent as those, but I rarely rewatch episodes as it is so revisiting them ways feels somewhat fresh.
The episode with Russel Crowe fighting around the world is still my favourite.
This season brought me back after a long break.

Cartoon Wars.

I think so. Isnt The Startling a part of that one? The one with Randy's shakycam scenes?

"
I'm not sure what they were getting at with the newspaper vs. internet thing. Newspapers have ads, and maybe I'm underestimating the self restraint of the average person but I'm pretty sure people aren't gleefully clicking on pop up ads then going "Oh shucks, look like I was duped." There's plenty of websites that will just give you straight forward reports. Hell, if you want completely ad free content there's websites where you can pay for a subscription, you know, like you would with a newspaper."
this thread looks like a goldmine lads.
>>62889858
It is a gold mine. You should read back to the first couple of pages. They date back to 2005, and even then there are fags talking about how old South Park was better.
>>62882969
>Safe Space is bad
the joke was good, but the rest of the episode, espically that capeshit guy was pretty cringe
>>62889911
Funnily you can see the political views of this people because when they shit on SJW values leftist get mad and when people shit on Trump /pol/ or some other stormfags get mad. In the end both of them miss the point.

>Someone drinks coke, worlds most famous drink after water
>Omg they are ads!!!!! shilling for coca cola!!!
as if coca cola fucking needs adds you goddamn retard
>>62890851
You're right anon.
The cold, refreshing taste of the delicious Coca-cola practically advertises itself!
South Park even in its lowest form is still better than everything else we see on TV today.

WTF? Do you actually think product placement is not a thing? Do you really think they don't use certain brands because the companies pay them? Have you ever watched a James Bond movie? Or have you seen House of Cards which is far less subtle with it?

>they don't realize you shouldn't say it
I'm sorry, I didn't get the "what you should say" monthly newsletter, anymore. Can someone fill me in on what they changed this month?
>>62893344
you shouldn't say things that are offensive
for example 'negro' is offensive now despite the fact it used to be the politically correct term
/pol/ has burned me out on making fun of SJW's so now I can't be entertained by it anymore.
They're not even using the correct terminology. "PC" was 90's to 00's. Now, it's "social justice" or just "justice."
>>62893450
They do use the term 'social justice' occasionally, just not to identify themselves nor 'social justice warrior'
If they used it as a label it could detract from their argument as SJWs often like to dismiss it as name calling. By being 'PC' so to speak and labelling them as PC there's a better chance of the argument being taken seriously
