That movie is such a waste of time
>>62804035
>movies are a waste of time
>>62804052
Shitty ones like that, yeah.
>>62804052
Literally all of them are. They were created to waste your time and to distract you from thinking about anything that actually matters.
>>62803181
One of my favorites. Lynch can't do wrong.
>>62804117
Films are art, not an investment. You appreciate art in your free time for personal pleasure, but you can't be working and improving yourself all the time. Humans need entertainment, so saying they're a waste of time is only true if you don't enjoy them, which is my case for OP's flick.
>>62804117
DUDE ESCAPISM HAS NO MERIT LMAO
>>62804292
Nope. Art is not for your pleasure. Art is for art's sake.
>>62804407
I could agree, but that's a statement that's hard to back up. How would you do that?
>>62804407
>>62804292
>>62804117
>>62804306
Youre all fucking retarded. Just to let you know
>>62804486
That's just the way it is. Things can have intrinsic value just like persons.
>>62804541
Good job at backing that up fám
>>62804546
So art is created just because it needed to exist? They're still a human manifestation not driven by any impulse or urgency, so what's the intrinsic purpose, if not human contemplation?
~bump~

movie is my "go to" for when i feel sorry for myself and get depressed
seems more like a triumph of the human spirit movie more than a dive into the bleakness
thought it was funny at first watch when anne bancroft walked into the scene...
turns out her husband ( mel brooks ) was an executive producer and major driving force on the film
interesting small world for talented people
>>62805402
yep, and iirc mel didnt want his name on the poster or associated or w.e cause he didnt want people to think it was a comedy
also pretty impressive how lynch went from eraserhead indie moviemaker to 8 academy award noms in one movie
>>62805556
It's pretty funny that it was shot in black and white because of the prosthetics involved looked too fake in color and not because of any artistic choice. Same thing with Eraserhead really, both because of its special effects and because B&W film was cheaper than colored.
>>62805556
yeah...sad that it happens so rarely..and probably won't happen again in the environment hollywood is operating in presently
>>62805669
no it was artistic choice
they didn't want the monster to overwhelm the content of the film
I recommend this movie for everyone.
>>62804541
>gets BTFO by 5 different people, each of them articulating why you're wrong
>y-you guys are j-just r-retarded
>>62804269
yeha man, melodramatic oscar bait is high art when a pop surrealist like lynch directs it
i love his hair :DDDD
>>62806033
There's literally nothing wrong with melodrama
>>62806094
There's literally no relevance to your post.
