It was a great reflection on upper class senior citizens in the entertainment industry. Nostalgia, regret, differences between different generations, losing inspiration and love for you craft as your body and mind decays. It obviously wasn't made for a younger, meme-spouting middle class audience.
Classic Dano was excellent in it, as was Weisz. It was filled with classic Sorrentino shots and a great score, which probably made it difficult for a lot of people to relate to it.
