Shallow tear-jerker
Shows how emotionally unstable a child with no siblings becomes.
>>
only redditors wouldn't like this movie to be honest
>>
It's ok. It's relatable if you have emotions, and it's pretty creative and cute, but the story doesn't wrap up well and there's like one memorable character. It's better than most Pixar shit nowadays, but worse than Wreck-It-Ralph and Tangled.
>>
It was ok but there was something about it that seemed hollow and insincere compared to something like Finding Nemo or Toy Story 3. I can't really put my finger on it.

The fucking elephant is the worst Pixar character of all-time
>>
>>62787664

Lewis Black's Anger for me. It's an issue when you design your movie so that all the characters are intentionally one-dimensional.

It's only the animated movie of the year because it has no competition this year, except for Pixar's other movie coming out soon.

Any animated movie from 2014 trumps this one.
>>
I thought it was pretty good. Better than the last few Pixar movies for sure. I liked the Chinatown reference
>>
I don't know mang, maybe I just had a really fucked up adolescence filled with loneliness (29 now I still have no friends), bouts of depression and thoughts of suicide, but fuck me I cried a lot during this movie. It constantly got to me scene after scene where Joy shits on Sadness, and then that Bing Bong rocket scene... fuuuuck I haven't cried like that from a movie since 2005.

I like it. You'll probably like it too since Pixar movies are designed to appeal to the widest demographic. That doesn't mean the movie is really really good. It just means it's good enough.

I had drank a bit before and during the movie

Boy was I not ready for those feels. The whole dynamic of Joy and Sadness was very true to my life

Also
>We can't make Riley feel anything
I cried. A lot. I'm not going to say its the best movie ever but the subject matter hit way too close to home.
>>

Really good to help kids and parents understand that negative emotions are a healthy part of growing up. That might sound obvious but I work in counseling and it's surprising how many fucking emotionally retarded people exist in this world. Poor kids barely have a shot. This movie might help a number with that.

Holy fuck, you're dense. The point of the movies was that emotions aren't mutually exclusive in adults. All of the emotions had a different colour to their primary one. Here, I'll spell it out for you.

Anger: Yellow hair
Fear: Red Bow tie
Sadness: Purple glasses
Disgust: Purple scarf.

Joy was just the most obvious because she was the main character, and the Joy/Sadness dynamic was the focus of the movie.
>>
>>62795502
fuck off
>>
>>62787832
That's a good point. I was expecting to get more out of the interactions between the emotions, but no, 2 of them get segregated from the other 3 not long into the film. It's a cute movie and I quite liked it, but it feels like they could have done much more.

It was about the necessity of Sadness, even though she knew exactly what she was being told it was in her nature to keep on touching and altering the memory's. >>
>>62802196
You made a big mistake, shitfuck.
>>
>>62802821
Yeah I got that, but they couldn't find a way to express it well within the confines of the story. Played straight the ending doesn't make any sense at all.
>>
>>62802925
Made perfect sense, though. She was running away because of anger, fear, and disgust to find happiness again, and the sadness of leaving her parents was all that could turn her back.
>>
>>62803096
Why would only sadness be able to turn her back, why not fear(which has been specifically established as the character in charge of keeping her safe)? Even if that really was the reason, they should have actually tried to establish it in the movie.
>>
>>62803187
Because fear was one of her primary motivators for running away in the first place? of never being happy again, of embarrassment, etc?
>>
>>62803273

>>
Went to see it but I was on so many benzos and opiates I ended up nodding out 5min in. I'm sure I didn't miss much.
>>
>>62803366
It wasn't shown in the movie, we just saw Anger getting a tantrum and putting the idea in by himself. If that's how you wanna read it though then have fun I guess, it doesn't make any sense to me but I'm not here to ruin the movie for other people.
>>
>>62803443
I mean, if you aren't completley emotionally illiterate, you would see that sequence emotions working in tandem. Then the only "fear" that could possibly dissuade riley from running away was the vague ambiguous suspicion running away would not solve anything. Which you're pitting against fear of actual things that have happened, happening again.

So, really, no clue what to tell you here.
