I've been slowly making my way through Voy the past couple of months and I have to say since Seven joined the show's quality has improved a lot. Several good to very good episodes after S4, saw Course: Oblivion last night, that was great also.
Actually looking forward to watching episodes now after slogging through some boring patches.

I'm finishing up Enterprise now. I've seen everything Star Trek has on TV and I have to say that my favorite series would have to be DS9. It was just so well done.
I wish that Enterprise had kept going, minus that God awful theme song, because it was looking like it was going to go some neat places. What happened?
>>62783179
Ezri was demonstrably not only the cutest character in any trek, she was by a long way more interesting than Jadzia.
She had to adapt to being a trill and had vulnerability as well as strength. She was complex, layered and evolved as the series went on.
10/10 Dax status confirmed.

The UPN folder(Star Trek:Enterprise and VOY)
>It was so bad that when Ron Moore joined the staff after Deep Space Nine ended, he wrote one episode, was there three weeks, and left in disgust. When he asked about how to write a character, the response was essentially "We don't know, do what you want."(VOY)
>UPN forced the show to use a power ballad, being the much-loathed “Where My Heart Will Take Me” pop-song for its theme tune instead of the purpose-written classical piece "Archer's Theme", which ended up being used for the closing credits.
>This(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8vslSWlsEg) is what it would have looked like had "Archer's Theme," been used the closing credits music, originally intended for the credits sequence and written by the same person responsible for Deep Space Nine's theme. An even earlier concept(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpwv1ZipTL4) resembled the other Trek series' credits even more, which even included the famous Opening Narration.

>Shran would have become a member of the crew. No doubt foreshadowing Andoria's co-founding of the Federation with Vulcan, Earth, and Tellar.
>Several episodes that would explain or foreshadow events in the "future" Star Trek Series (mainly TOS): Stratos, NOMAD, Flint, The Borg Queen, "This Side of Paradise" and possibly more on the Mirror Universe would have been explored.
>William Shatner may have finally showed up... as an aged Mirror Universe James T. Kirk who had been shunted through time and space!

>The Klingon crash landing in Oklahoma was originally going to be a Klingon strike force attacking Iowa, which would lead to the NX-01 being launched in an urgent mission to find out and combat the Klingons, and further the anxiety and opposition among many humans afraid of hostile aliens reaching Earth. This story arc would have served as an explanation for Picards infamnous line about the disastrous first contact between Klingons and Humans.
>After Enterprise got into space, the writers envisioned space being viewed as very dangerous and hazardous, as this was humanity's first long term deep space mission, and starting what Kirk, Picard, etc. take for granted in later centuries. The common Trek tech like phasers and transporters, etc. would be gradually introduced throughout the series, making each season a bit safer. The executives felt this also was too risky and less traditional, so the first two seasons largely portrayed the NX-01 mission as safe as the Enterprise-D's mission in The Next Generation, which takes place 200 years later, loaded with more or less the same technology we've seen in the rest of the franchise. This is also ironic given many fans were angry that this prequel series did not portray space as more dangerous and often didn't feel like a prequel due to this and other reasons, but the idea of space being dangerous for the crew was what the writers intended all along, it was executive meddling that stopped it. They did eventually get to explore the idea of making space more dangerous in seasons 3 and 4, due to less executive meddling.

>The series originally was going to explore more thoroughly how Earth became the near paradise seen in Trek, how Earth united after first contact with the Vulcans, and the various interstellar space programs that preceded Starfleet. Yet again, this was axed by executives who felt fans would be bored with explanations of the universe and not just typical alien of the week episodes.
>Alien baddies the Suliban were an executive idea as well, as the series was originally going to feature the Romulans and Klingons as the prominent threats to Earth. The Xindi were thought up by the writers after executives continuously axed the idea of the Romulans being the main villain (for whatever reason). Season four changed that by dumping the Temporal Cold War altogether and finally making the Romulans and Klingons the main baddies. The Earth-Romulan War was finally going to be seen by season five according to series producer Manny Coto, but the cancellation of course ended that.

It was not a decent episode. It was the worst Star Trek episode of all time. Please allow me to explain:
"Let's invent a new warp drive that can take us home."
>they invent a new warp drive that can take them home
"Oh no, there are some problems with our new warp drive."
>they solve the problems with the new warp drive
"Okay, so now we have a problem-free warp drive that can take us home."
>they forget it ever happened and move on to the next episode
There is no reason for the USS Voyager to stay in the Delta Quadrant after that episode. There is no reason for Star Trek: Voyager to continue being produced, written, performed and distributed after that episode. There is no reason for anybody in the audience to continue watching after that episode.
The writers and producers were thumbing their noses at us, flipping us the bird, sticking their cocks in our faces, shitting down our throats, violating our every orifice, and we just sat there and took it.
Fuck Threshold and fuck you.

>>62784474
Most of their romance happened in alternate-timeline / imagination episodes.
>>62792922
Fuck the evolution bit, fuck the series continuity shit, the worst part of Threshold was the fact that the entire post-TOS Star Trek universe has a fundamental law of physics established (warp factor is an exponential curve, warp 10 is an asymptotic limit that can never be reached) that suddenly gets "solved" by some washed out failed pilot who spent most of his starfleet career in prison for being a piece of shit.
Yes but compared with story arc episodes, strange new world/ exploration/ monster of the week episodes are comparatively fewer.
reminder Dukat did nothing wrong except when he accidentally got himself stuck on the station while the boobytraps were going off and when he tried to screw over a rival politician by separating that politician from his son, but then he accidentally left a trail of clues and Garak caught him, and maybe that one time he accidentally got that chick pregnant, and when his whole life was ruined when he forgot that the prophets were omnipotent beings inside the wormhole, and one time he tried to convince Sisko that he was perfectly sane, and went about this task by talking to imaginary tulpas, also the whole becoming Space Satan thing might have been ill advised
>>62793763
