If you've seen any of Hillcoat's movies, then you know they're never without a cohesive plot. His storytelling won't be as dense as Carruth's or Tarantino's, but it's never empty spectacle.
The screenwriter, Matt Cook, is an upstart, though. His projects look promising (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3208946/), but he obviously can't be vouched for.
I'm pretty excited, though. Looks a lot like a spiritual successor to The Town.
