Which was absolutely necessary. The show was already really inaccessible to people who didn't know much about the era. With out Titus and Pullo they would have had an even smaller audience.

They handled that well for what it was. Cleopatra was well known to slut around for political gain, and who Caesarion's father was has been debated since he was born.
