The fight in Return of the Jedi with the Emperor watching is pretty good too. It has a much shittier movie leading up to it though.

Most directors rely on other writers to take their rough ideas and work with them to make something decent. You don't commonly see a director write an entire screenplay by themselves, but that is exactly what GL did with the prequel trilogy and that (and overreliance on CGI) is what killed it I think. Filmmaking is a collaborative effort.
