Why don't they just give the droids flamethrowers so they can kill the Jedi at mid-range. I mean, Jedi don't use blasters so you still out range them, and most battles in Star Wars apparently happen in tight corridors which is the perfect place for flamethrowers. And as an added bonus, droids are metal and would be less susceptible to the flames than the meatbags, so you don't have to worry that much about friendly fire
Also, why do Trade Federation ships have pressurised corridors and hangars, anyway? The crew is like 8 Nemodians on the main bridge. All of the fighting and bitch work is done by droids. If Jedi attack your ship, just vent the atmosphere and seal yourself in the one room with air

I honestly can't tell if destroyer droids are the dumbest or the coolest design. They make sense in a way. They're a mobile heavy weapons platform. They can't really move much when fully deployed so they hilariously roll around when they need to deploy. They have a shield which is great against Jedi. Jedi can't reflect bolts back at them. They are pretty damn unique even for Star Wars. They look like they don't even belong.

I realize these were incredibly shitty movies. and we all want to block out those horrible memories of the "plot". But the entire point of the clone wars was that Sidious was playing both sides. He was running the show behind the Trade Federation AND he was the guy who originally ordered the clone army. Or did you forget that when Obi-won found the army it was already ready to go?
He designed the two armies to fight mostly to a stalemate, causing chaos so he could take over the senate. This isn't a complicated plot.

Shields cost money, more complicated CPU able to better multitask cost money, harder materials costs money. better machined pistons able to create faster movement costs money.
The average droid died to a clone, or was controlling the streets on a planet Jedi were never on. They needed quantity, not quality. To install fear in populations that spanned hundreds of planets.
Then to deal with the jedi they had specialists like magnaguards, bounty hunters, mandalorians, sith and grevious

The droids were not designed by Sheev. They were standard issue droids, just like protocol droids or any other random turd droids you see across the galaxy. They existed long before the clone army started being produced. They were never used on such a giant scale until the clone wars.
Sheev did not create the droids to have a physical stalemate with clones. The droids were pieces of shit by the way, the average clone had a ridiculously high kdr (theres a source for that somewhere on the wiki, cant be fucked to look). Sheev was purposely making horrible tactical decisions through Dooku/Grevious, forcing the CIS/Trade Federation/Banking Clan to spend way too much money on extra droids. This left no individual group rich enough to oppose his Empire once the war was over. Another way he could have burned money, and killed jedi, would be by making more jedi killers and other expensive droids. Two birds with one stone.
He already invested a massive amount of resources into creating General Grevious and his bodyguards. It was actually that research that spawned Darth Vader's life support suit. Other than those two instances, that technology is never seen again.
