The story was pretty simple, but I don't think every movie needs a complicated story full of twits to be entertaining.
Also, the movie really has a great development of relation between Furiosa and Max. How at first they are enemies and mistrust each other, and over time, they become friends are are ready to risk their lives for one another.
I especially like that this development isn't show by exposition heavy dialogue, but by their actions.

This is probably personal preference. I found them rather likeable. I really enjoyed the fact that both of them were incredibly competent and no fake drama was created by poor communication or stupid decisions.

The very first thing that happens. Furiosa kidnaps the women and it's pretty obvious what happened. Still, the movie spends ten fucking minutes making two bad guys explain what happened (and also, they left shit written on the wall to ham it further in)

The problem of dialogue exposition that it is very unrealistic and breaks the immersion, since it reminds you that it is just a movie.
