>Turner Classic Movies airs the 1968 "Romeo and Juliet"
>rated G by the MPAA
>gives it a TV-MA rating
Wut. They've given PG movies TV-MA ratings before too, but this is just ridiculous.
The MPAA's original ratings is by a different cabal as the cable television standards and practices departments that assign those tv ratings.
Both of them, of course, are full of shit.
>1968
>the MPAA having its shit together
MPAA was a mess when it started in the 60's. Lots of shit got a "G" rating that shouldn't have because of the ratings not really being established yet.
Cause it had tits.

At least they didn't slap it with TV 14 and just edit the tits, they have to give it a MA to show it and keep from editing anything
This is rated PG

If that's the case, couldn't they been charged with distributing child pornography? Why isn't this film banned?
And this is PG too.
Remember to thank Steven for creating PG-13. It lead to the shit show of most movies now a days being forced into a rating of PG-13 to appeal to the masses and suck in those dumb teenage dollars. Also Australians..

Bad News Bears is rated PG and theres a part where a little kid says "Our team sucks because it has a bunch of niggers, jews and mexicans on it"
Hocus Pocus is on cable every Halloween and every time i see it, the TV rating goes up from G, to PG, to TV-14. Are parents complaining about the virgin line?

If you take the scene completely out of context, yea sure it could be considered CP. Now go ahead and rant on tumblr about it rape culture existed in the 60s.
Is anyone watching The Connection right now? This is great.
