Honest predictions on Space Cop?
>>
it's gonna be great
>>
Great
>>
Better than the AVGN movie, but not by much. Hopefuly it'll be shorter.
>>
They should try making a real movie.
>>
Average to bad 6/10
>>
Does Rich have diabetes?
>>
2/10 most likely.

They are not good film makers.
>>
>>62668273
Wait it hasn't been released yet? I'm going to guess it'll be mediocre.
>>
>>62668273
Rich will fall down at least once and yell OH MY GOOOOOOD at least twice.
>>
>>62668273

Feeding Frenzy was pretty good for what it was.

I will expect this to also be pretty good for what it is.
>>
>>62668634
>real movie = drama
Nigga please. They enjoy making goofy comedies so they make goofy comedies.

>"There's a lot of exicitment, there's a lot of buzz and it doesn't make a lot of sense to me because I have no interest in intentionally shitty movies. The best bad movies are the ones where the people making it didn't realize they were making a bad movie."

- Jay Bauman, director / star of Space Cop
>>
>>62668273
It will be a pretty funny low budget comedy, just as Feeding Frenzy was. Regardless of its strengths and weaknesses, however, /tv/ will say it's the worst thing ever and create all sorts of pathetic new "epic" memes about the guys being suicidal, going out of business, etc. Despite these "rumors" RLM will continue on as normal and anons will still be here shitposting, accomplishing nothing with their lives.
>>
>>62669829
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=owuy1AuourI
>>
It'll be schlocky and fun but not as good as Feeding Frenzy, although production value will be higher
>>
>>62669871
If you don't understand the difference between a small group of friends making a low budget comedy because of their passion for weird comedy and filmmaking, and a large company cynically churning out a product to cash in on a trend, then there is no hope for you.
>>

The trailer was abominably unfunny and awful looking. I can only assume the full movie will be the same but longer.
>>
Why does almost every single internet personality think we're interested in seeing their "feature film"?
>>
>>62670308
RLM has been making films long before they were Internet personalities. And unlike people like Doug and Linkara, they have a clue as to what they're doing.
>>
>"Lol guys it's a campy homage to the movies we love, like remember RoboCop and how campy and silly it was?"

>"Lol you just don't get, you'd probably prefer Adam Sandler movies and Bay Transformers lol!"

even with gorilla, the documentary is ten times more watchable and interesting than the actual film itself. it's definitive proof (as if we needed it) that RLM's real strength is talking movies, not making them.

Jesus Christ. I don't follow Channel Awesome threads so this is my first time seeing this. Good God it looks worse than I could have imagined.

Have you seen The Recovered or Feeding Frenzy? They're really well done considering they were both made on a budget of $20.
>>
>>62671859
What is the connection? If you're going to compare Space Cop to anything, compare it to their other feature films, not some dumb youtube video.
>>

>>
>>62671930
>The Recovered
admirable effort at making a sincere film hampered by the (lack of) budget

>>

Who are you quoting? RLM has never used this excuse, despite how /tv/ keeps spamming it.
>>
>>62671978

I have literally never seen this. All I ever see are autists like you that chime in with their "it's bad on purpose" criticism, usually responding to nobody.

Did you miss the part where everything RLM ever has done is ironically bad?
>>
>>62672329
I gave you an example in the post you're responding to.
>>
>>62672345
The Recovered and Feeding Frenzy are their last two feature films. Neither were "ironically bad." It's pretty clear you're only familiar with their web videos. They're smart enough to know you can't do that type of humor for an entire feature.
>>
>>62672426
Because parody is the same thing as "bad on purpose?"

Protip: it's not.
>>
>>62672439
Did you miss the space cop trailer too?
>>
>>62672475
The trailer with the blu laser shooting up into the sky? The trailer itself is clearly a joke. I'll wait for the "real" trailer.
>>

>"Pork Pork in Space is a shitty Lynch rip-off"
>"That's the joke."
>>
>>62672544
No, Pork Pork in Space is a parody of Lynch's style. Again, not the same thing as "bad on purpose." You're manipulating reality in order to complain.
>>

What's dumb and misplaced about pointing out that RLM fans deflect all criticism by saying that "RLM did it as an intentional joke"
>>
>>62672935
RLM makes comedy videos. Of course the justification for their comedy is that it's supposed to be a joke. What you've been doing is trying to say the comedy in their features relies on "bad on purpose" which just isn't true.

Do you think this only means the really obvious shit like the bird effects in Birdemic? Because "bad on purpose" could be applied to Jay's character redemption arc in Feeding Frenzy which was an ironic comment on 80's Spielberg rip-off characterization.

That's what their commentary tracks are for. RLM are the living embodiment of the smug, detached Gen-X ethos.

I'd venture to guess none of them has felt a single sincere conviction about anything since childhood. They exist as polyps upon the colon of culture, satiating themselves on the perceived failures of others (i.e. "The Man") while adding nothing new to the discourse aside from ironic complaint.

They're a group of insecure, lost, rapidly aging burnouts who silently believe they could do a better job of making films than the professionals in the industry. Yet they lack the ambition and ability to actually enter the very industry they're obsessed with. They choose instead to fuck around and make student film piss-takes well into middle age.

They are awful, awful people. I've met thousands just like them, and the last thing we need is for these people to gain any attention for their navel gazing.

Please, /tv/, do not aspire to become anything like these people. Theirs is a lonely road leading to depression and a life devoid of real purpose.

I hope they disappear and their disaffected followers stop subsidizing their lifestyle. Perhaps that would force them to do something productive with themselves.

So we're supposed to enjoy Space Cop because we should want to live vicariously thru RLM? That's pathetic.

The topic of the thread is that you MUST like Space Cop? I don't see that anywhere in OP's post.

I deleted my previous post before I saw your response because it was an underwritten response.

Where did I say that anyone is being forced to like Space Cop?
