Peep show went to shit when Gerard became a main character and Mark had a baby etc.It went from always pushing what was just about believable to 'nobody would put up with these people for 2 minutes, ever'.

Well, I did say 'not really jumped the shark', it's just more of a general feeling that it lost the shock factor it had after that episode while still having some great elements afterwards like the Dobby/Gerard/Mark triangle.
It's actually surprising to me that the eating dog episode happened in series 4. There are so many memorable moments before the end of that series, and so relatively few after.
It's still better than 95% of current TV though.

I'm normally aroused easily by female characters on tv shows.
Once I've rubbed one out to the hot ones repeatedly, and the body is sated, often the mind insists on fapping anew, I then move on to considering the characters beyond the immediacy of their physical sexiness, and blindside my way to an erection via some sort of emotional resonance with the very being of the character in question.

It's just difficult to think of new ideas, especially for a comedy which relies on cringe and shock factor. You have to keep one-upping yourself and consequently the characters go into a crazy overdrive where their personalities are over-emphasised and blown out of all proportion to how they first appeared.
Also, there's something a lot fucking sadder about Mark and Jez being who they are in their forties than in their early thirties. Comedy has become tragedy.
