yeah so Mr. Fantastic can't actually change into stuff like other stretchy dudes such as Plastic Man, but in this movie they made it so that he could change his face and junk.

I had a pic of Mr. Fantastic trying to change into a bicycle and getting really pissed off about not being able to do it but I seem to have lost it.

It seems like they had footage of him just driving normally, but later decided they wanted to have him do this face movement so they just CG over it.

villains are better when they're OP, not necessarily hero's it's why people take issue with Superman, they think he's a Mary Sue when that was only true in the Silverage.

Iron Man is constantly upgrading himself, there's a great What If about Spider-Man actually training himself to learn how to use his powers and he became incredibly powerful.

That makes literally no sense. You cant have a film be in 24 and have an element within that film move at a different rate.

Now if the CGI is rendered at a rate higher than 24, and then downscaled, you get shit like the hobbit which is what i think you mean

Ultimate Marvel is an alternate universe which was created so people wouldn't have to deal with a shitton of years of history. It was a bit more edgy in that every single fucking person was a cunt apart from Peter Parker. Especially captain america was a grade-A cunt with psychological issues. Also notably, Ultimate comics used a different font.

Non-Ultimate Spider-man comics didn't really run well, so it fell behind a bit and writers started doing stupid shit. In an event like half the fucking superheroes were killed by stupid shit, like the Wasp being eaten by the Blob.

Afterwards nobody gave a shit about Ultimate anymore so some actual fun books came out. In one of these Reed (who had turned evil because Sue dumped him to literally have sex with more men) built a giant city that engulfed a large part of Europe in which time flowed differently. After a couple of months he emerged, but he had actually aged for hundreds of years in his city.

He's still around as he's a pretty fun character, after the marvel 'reboot' he wound up in the main universe and will be a villain in the New Avengers ongoing

The Infinity Gems are 6 stones that grant the power of the creator of the universe. There's the Power gem, the Time gem, Reality gem, Soul gem, Mind gem and Space gem. Power gem makes you hulksmash strong, Time gem allows you to do shit with time, Reality gem allows you to rewrite things like the laws of physics, Soul gem allows you to do weird shit, Mind gem allows you to manipulate and read minds, Space gem allows you to teleport and shit.

They're usually used as a macguffin as the one who controls all 6 of them and puts them in the Infinity Gauntlet becomes so strong that he can rule the entire universe. They've showed up in the MCU and will be used in the next Avengers movies. They're mostly used as a plot device: Thanos seeks to get all the infinity stones, he gets the gauntlet and does all kind of weird shit (like kill half the universe), and then gets tricked into dropping the gauntlet. The 6 stones are usually distributed among different people to keep them safe and to make sure that not one person can easily get them all.

As an interesting tidbit, in one arc the 616 (main Marvel universe) Reed Richards builds a machine to cross to other alternate universes. He finds a place where Reeds from all kinds of alternate universes meet up in a Council of Reeds to decide what to do with the multiverse. Many of them (or all, I can't remember) wield the infinity gauntlet from their universe, though they have far less power outside their own universe.

The effects company that did the practical effects for this movie did a kickstarter for a movie called Harbinger Down on Netflix.

It's not very good. I wish they had the budget they had on The Thing but even this movie with it's all practical effects aren't very good.

>>62672978
except it ISNT cost effective OR easy AT ALL when the whole movie has already been done with animatronics and practical effects, and then they go over the entire movie and replace all the practical with brand new CGI.

At this point, CGI is no longer about any sort of cost effectiveness or necessity to make impossible effects, it's about being lazy, AND studio execs have become convinced that people specifically WANT to see CGI. So shit like your pic related happens. where they replace it with CGI because "people dont want practical, they want CGI! because CGI gives it a blockbuster feel!"

you might be surprised to know that many of the T-1000's effects in T2 were practical. only CG was literally impossible stuff, like morphing/shapeshifting. even the blown apart T-1000, before it falls into the molten steel, is an animatronic

They way they move reminds me of the infected from The Last of Us. In which their movements and vocals really sell the idea of the different stages of a parasite slowly taking over the brain. You really get a sense of their struggle to retain humanity up until the transformation is complete and the only sounds they make are the echolocation clicks. Probably the only interesting zombie type enemy in a long time.
