Yeah, Camus is all about the absurd. An overly simplistic summary would be "nihilism with an optimistic twist". Life is pointless, so enjoy it, rather than life being pointless so why bother?

She was only halfway through the book so we can forgive her for thinking it was the latter.

I think it's just a nice extra that they will never fully commit to, every time they've mention or shown anything there's usually a scully like explanation, the shiny balloon, rye suffering blood loss from his stab wound, heck molly could have overheard some folks talking about that UFO like that one guy Lou met on the way to the auto shop.

The only real crazy one to me has to be Red losing 2 hours of time.
>>
>>62667738
I guess, but the show keeps reminding us of it. When THE INDIAN MAN was looking for evidence, and now with the painting of the state cop's daughter.

Really loving the season so far, if it continues like this it'll be the best season of any television show I've ever seen. I tried watching Sense8 on netflix after Fargo S02E05, but I just had to puke internally.

>>62668057
Watch season 1 first (I guess) it has a small link to the movie, besides the fact that it is located in the same town as the movie. It's probably a drama/thriller but it's pretty action packed. You just see a great story unfold with great dialogue, and you don't know what's gonna happen until it does and you're gonna like it.

I think season 1 was pretty great, but season 2 so far is GOAT

I don't think Reagan was necessarily being presented as a "bad guy".

Earlier in the scene we had a long clip of him giving his famous "city upon a hill" speech that literally brought people to tears, so I'd suggest the point was to show that Reagan was both a great leader and a doofus regular guy at the same time.

>"You'll tell 'em right? He shot at me first?"

Fuck..
>>
>>62667683
It wasn't a partisan satire
Lou looks up to the figure of authority those around him are hailing in his time of need and is met with befuddlement similar to the rabbi in A Serious Man

Reagon, in real or fictional form, is a part of the period-specific atmosphere of lostness and distrust they're trying to portray

Bear might have said Hanzee was like a brother (instead of being always welcome at the table).

Floyd and Otto seem pretty solid but you never know.
>>
>>62671068
Yeah, I feel like they sort of alluded to this with that scene between Bear and Hanzee.

He says something about Otto taking him in when he was a child, it seems kind of a weird point to mention, like why would you just randomly go around adopting Indian kids. I feel like there's more there.

You're really bad at spotting ethnicity, just awful. you've really never seen Michael donovan in anything else? come on.

the foreshadowing was a bit heavy handed here eh?

The guy has really squinty eyes

Who else thinks that the old man will snap out of his paralysis just in time to save his two sons from killing each other?

Well neither of them died so, not really? And she's been reading that book since episode 1.
>>

Everybody looked Mexican in the 70's.

Weird hair and pencil moustaches. Check your family album.
>>

Be honest, you don't want that to happen
>>
>>62671349
Nah, i'd say he's pretty much out of commission permanently.

I'm hoping since everything's basically his wife's fault, that she will take the brunt of the punishment and things will work out for Ed.
>>
>>62671436
>>62671447

I reckon they'll play it as one of those "you didn't see that coming!" moments.
>>
>>62671354
well, this is the first time she's really discussed it with anyone else that I can recall.

It just seemed a little to convenient right as two dudes are plotting to kill them and shit.
>>
>>62671476
I'd like to think the show isn't that cheap, but hey.
>>
>>62671349
it'll be pretty badass if he come out of being a vegetable and started killing everyone

finale would be alien boss battle that had facial feature closely resembled malvo

Man, this is probably shaping up to be the best season of TV I've ever watched.

I don't think we've seen the last of Reagan at all. I bet he continues touring through the Midwest and ends up in Sioux Falls when the massacre happens.

One of the best things about it is that the second season stands on its own two feet because of the writing, directing, and presentation, regardless of the change in actors and story, unlike True Detective which proved that the only reason S1 was so good was because of Woody Harrelson and Matthew Mconocock
>>
>>62670326
That was really toward the latter part of his 2nd term. They apparently shielded him from speaking publicly and Nancy became his go-between.

>it seems like kind of a weird point to mention

No one else picked up an inverse quasi Tom Hagen vibe form Hanzee? Adopted into the family by the father, thought of as a brother by some of the brothers. Only obviously Hanzee is a dog whereas Hagen is a lawyer. Just thought that was a nice similarity. The Gerhardts are like the backwoods Corleones anyway.

My favorite moment this week. Believes that his experiences in a war movie were equivalent to Lou's actual combat experience.

Without memeing, I think he legit put on weight for the role.

Black Mass remnants, dunst put on the pounds too

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/fargos-jesse-plemons-his-weight-834586

>How did keeping the weight you gained for Black Mass help inform Ed's character?

>One of the first questions I had for Noah about the script was about some of his words describing Ed. He described him as being almost like a cow. I was slightly confused by that and wanted to hear exactly what he meant by that. He said that, in the animal kingdom, that's where Ed would fall. ... I got to visit a few butcher shops in Austin and one in L.A., and if you're working with meat and eating a lot of meat, you might be [overweight]. It was something I was thinking about, and he has moments later on, where I realized a male cow is a bull. So there still are these primal reactions when it comes to protecting what's yours. But at his core, he's a peaceful guy who just wants to find a nice pasture and spend all his days there.

>There's a great painting Noah had made for the house — it's right above the fireplace. It's three cows grazing in a nice, idyllic landscape with a little country house in the distance. For some reason, when I was on set, I found myself zoning out and staring at that painting. ... It's hard to explain exactly what the weight did. Obviously it affects how I moved. No clothes fit — I could wear like two pairs of pants and four shirts. (Laughs.)

He was Gus Grimly's superior in Season 1.

Best character for me is Hanzee, though, though Milligan, Peggy and Dodd are all trailing close.
