ITT: movies that made you cry

ah good a ghibli thread, so a chance to complain about one of the films.
i saw my first ghibli today, one "my nieghbor tortorto". stupid name. and the film sucked ass. the characters were super cliche, the music sounded straight out of a pokemon game, tortorto was only in the film for like 15 minutes, most of the film was eaten up by the little girls runnign around, (what the fuck was with the blatant pedophilia in the bathtub?). 4/10 only for the art direction. are his others better?

Dear Zachary. Never been so devastated by a movie. Watched it a shortly after my boys turned one and they looked similar to Zachary. Hurt for days.
Not to be an edgelord but I've never cried from a movie. I've felt sad for characters but never enough for tears.

that movie was annoying, I only watched cause everyone said it would be so sad
This was a huge punch to the gut. I was expecting a lighthearted comedy when I saw this on Netflix, but boy was I mistaken.

Don't watch something to see if it's actually as people say. People tend to exaggerate what they saw to fit in with the people the recommended them.

Movie was legitimately fucking depressing.
>crying over spilled Japs
not even once.
>>62660883
Nah it made me sympathize with the japanese maybe not the soldiers but then again every soldier from every country was just fighting for their country. The japanese were very prideful of their empire but in hindsight the movie made me think of the civilians more then anything how they were affected by war.
I DONT WANNA CLOSE MY EYESSSS
I DONT WANNA FALL ASLEEP CUZ I MISS YOU BABE

I also cried to click I hate admitting it but seeing his kids the way they were in the future and his wife moving on etc made me tear up but the kicker was him ignoring his dad and then his dad dies.
>>62661345
I don't think I would have cried if it was billed as a sad movie, but I went in expecting 90 minutes of slow-mo tits. Click had Psycho levels of deceptive marketing.

pic related. consider using one

The ending is one of the most stunning things I've ever seen.
I watched this with my girlfriend and her dad and I just started bawling my eyes out multiple times throughout the movie, its one of the only times in my life where I actually cried in front of people., Her dad, who never liked me before, actually respected me a bit more afterwards because of it, saying that he cried the first time he saw it too. It was a strange experience, and interestingly I watched the movie for a second time with a different girlfriend and it barely had an effect on me.

>>62659362
Don't worry mate, Miyazaki is a shit flickmaker.
People tend to forget that there are several directors at Ghibli (it's just a fucking animation studio after all), and Isao Takahata is way better than Miyazhacki.
Ghibli isn't that good in general, most of the decent animes aren't made by them.
