Star wars was always the movie franchise closest to my heart. I grew up wanting so desperately to be luke skywalker... to have his powers... to save the universe. It taught me incredible values and illustrated for me the difference between right and wrong.
I'm almost forty now and it just feels like the biggest kick in the teeth that this is the man chosen to continue that legacy. When I look at him I simply cannot relate in any way. I'm the core audience of this franchise and I've been forced out into the cold for political reasons.
It feels like my whole life has been comprimized in some way by people like JJ Abrams... all the brilliant opportunities white males have been deprived of to satisfy someones agenda. Its his kind who taught girls to be degenerate meaning I've never been able to have a relationship... never found a woman who I could hold as my father did my mother. I've been kept back from the best jobs for not being minority enough. Treated like a second class citizen. Star Wars was the one thing I still had... a window into a fantastic dimension where dreams still felt possible.
I'm not hateful but i really despise what this world has become. Sometimes I think anakin said it best... "I'm not the Jedi I should be". Does anyone else feel this way?
