Which is the best bond movie from the Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig years?

Also who makes a better bond, Brosnan or Craig?

The two best bond movies out of those two bond actors are probably

>Goldeneye
>Skyfall

I think of all the other as sub par to those two.
>>
>>52692988
i buy craig way more as a tough guy. brosnan was just such a pretty boy.
>>
>>52692988
Goldeneye
Skyfall
Craig

Pierce is kinda silly.

Goldeneye is the only good Brosnan movie.
Casino Royale is the only good Craig movie.
Both suck compared to him.
>>
Brosnan was a better Bond for me but

>Casino Royale
>Skyfall
>Goldeneye

All pretty great Casino Royale probably my personal favourite though
>>
>>52693015
True but I could buy Brosnan being able to get into anyone's pants. Craig on the other hand... I feel like someone should've asked what was wrong with his face by this point.
>>
>>52693010
I liked Casino Royale too
>>
>>52693015
The thing I like about Brosnan though is the character of James Bond is corny himself, and I always felt that he fit the role perfectly. I mean a guy who can swoop ANY woman off their feet, and apparently men as well in the case of Skyfall, although unintentionally, has to be corny.
>>
>>52693046
>Goldeneye is the only good Brosnan movie.

I thought The World is Not Enough was pretty good, although nowhere near as good as Goldeneye.

Tomorrow Never Dies and Die Another Day were absolute shit-tier, but if you ask me Tomorrow Never Dies is the absolute worst of the Brosnan films.
>>
Goldeneye and Casino Royale, fuck of skyfall fags.
>>
The answer is always Craig.

Not just that, but Casino Royale was much better than Goldeneye.
>>
>>52693010
skyfall is utter shit, i really didn't understand the praise this movie got. Literally the only great thing from skyfall was the cinematography, everything other was shit. Also, skyfall is a shit bond song and is on diamonds are forever tier.

the only good graig bond is casino royale

What do you have against Skyfall? The only thing I have against it is that it ended Judi Dench's playing of M... I'm fucking pissed about that.
>>
>>52693194
and literally the only great thing from the entirety of the previous Bond films is Sean Connery. it's a terrible franchise and skyfall is easily the best one they've ever made.
>>
I'm definitaly a pleb on this one, but The World is Not Enough is my favourite Brosnan and craigs films have all been a bit shit
>>
>>52693155
>I thought The World is Not Enough was pretty good

I liked TWINE too. I hated it when I first saw it, but I consider it the second best Brosnan Bond now.
>>
>>52693212
>and literally the only great thing from the entirety of the previous Bond films is Sean Connery
pleb, literally pleb. I you don't like bond and don't have a clue about it, it's fine with me. Just please don't post your invalid opinien then.
>>
>>52693242
thank goodness for nostalgia goggles, right? and you call me a pleb
>>
>>52693207
I'm sad about that, as well. She was great. She had a really nice relationship with Craig, though. So it seemed fitting to end her role with him.

nope sorry still my favorite villain. then trevelyan.
>>
The best Bond movie is entirely subjective to your age.

Chances are if you are around the ages of 25-29 you will say Goldeneye, because when it came out, it was the first new Bond you would have seen.

It was an epic film, cool as fuck, and you could overlook the cheese in it too. It was a bit of an event when it was on tv too, and it was followed up with the N64 game as well.

But realistically, Casino Royal is the best bond logically.
>>
>>52692988
I really like the world is not enough but its also a really shit movie. I think for me its mostly a nostalgia thing

If Daniel Craig leaves the series, I pray to God they just invite Pierce Brosnan back as he loved doing it. I never ever want to see fucking Idris Elba play Bond, you might as well just end the series there. That's taking being PC WAY too far. There's nothing wrong with being black, but Bond is fucking black, it's just not who he is. I'd rather see the series ended than have Idris play him.

So I pray that if Daniel Craig leaves they get Brosnan back, or somebody else, just absolutely no to Idris.
>>
>>52693252
Please tell me then wha'ts great about skyfall besides the cinematography? I stilll suspect you don't have a clue about the bond franchise.
>>
>>52693288
if they make Idris Elba, then that will be the only bond movie i will ever watch
>>
>>52693314
Decent villain, nice locations, above average director. overall it's a step up from the standards of the series, especially the Brosnan MTV-era Bonds.

>you don't have a clue about the bond franchise.
you act like it's steeped in lore and not some stupid ass bullshit you put on in the background once a year when they marathon it. get over yourself, we've all seen these movies a million times. You're literally spazzing out over So Epic!!1 James Bond
>>
>>52693212
Dude are you drunk? Even Lazenby was a greater bong than brosnan and graig. Do you even bond?
>>
>>52693366
the villain was just pretentious. The acting was great, the writing sadly not. overhyped by plebs.
>>
>>52693442
oh good heavens, a pretentious villain!
>>
>>52693270
I liked his performance, and I got the villain's motivation. But, fuck, the execution of his plan made no fucking sense.
>>
>>52693378
i didn't say Craig was a better bond. I'm talking about the overall tone and quality of the movies, not the guy playing Bond.

As long as you're British and a guy you can be James Bond, who cares?
>>
>>52693207

Dench's leaving was sad, but she couldnt even read scripts anymore her eyes had gotten that bad.

At least she got a nice send off
>>
>>52692988

pierce is best bond outside of connery.

craig never struck me as the "bond" type. he can shoot guns but doesnt seem like a good playboy.

I like Daniel Craig but I think he doesn't have enough screen presence
>>
Brosnan movies were just so much more fun.
>>
>>52693342
What? Why?
>>
I liked Craigs turn as Bond, it was different enough to feel like he wasnt trying to recapture the earlier Bonds, his was more 'weary spec ops assassin who knows how to get women' rather than 'pretty playboy who can use a gun'

Also Dench is best M, there is no debating this
>>
>>52692988

Brosnan's best: The World Is Not Enough
>Why?
Because it shows Bond getting duped because of his own expectations. It also has a lot of classic Bond vs villain action and he and M brow-beating each other over their mistakes.

Craig's best: Casino Royale
>Why?
Because he shows the most range of emotions in this film. Even more so than Skyfall. He was so determined not to be a one-movie Bond that he gave it his all. And the movie focused more on character dynamics and less on tech and gadgetry.

Better Bond: Daniel Craig
>Why?
Simply put, Craig pulls off snobby Brit way better than Brosnan. And Brosnan has less believable emotions. When Craig's Bond says he's "tired" from all the fighting, I believe it.

>>52693481
They should have gotten someone of the same caliber as her such as Maggie Smith to play M... I think M is best suited for an older distinguished British actress.
>>
>>52693587
I mean as far as finding a new M, as Judi Dench is irreplaceable and the closest you'll get is someone like Maggie Smith.
>>
Skyfall:

Full retard M (glad she died)

The Joker Gambit (please stop using this anymore, Loki, Khan, and now this)

Home Alone Act 4.

Nerd Q (I'm the best leet haxor in the world, oh no I just got haxed)

it's mostly how retarded Judi Dench's character was that annoyed me, seeing how she's the center of this film it really ruins the whole thing for me.
>>
Craig is too much of a thug to play JB. An this torture scene, jesus it goes to the opposite of what JB is...
>>
>>52693585
I guess I don't expect Bond movies to make any sense. Elevated ridiculousness and classy vulgarism.
>>
>>52693010
>Skyfall better than Casino Royale

I didn't even hate Skyfall, but come on man.
>>
>>52693670
Casino Royale bored me to tears.

>>

When did Khan use the Loki gambit?
>>
>>52693766
cumberbatch khan
>>
>>52693288
>Brosnan coming back

The guy's already in his 60s. It's not happening.
>>
>>52693179
I didn't enjoy watching it, I didn't like the plot, moneypenny in the field, new q, silva or the ending.
>>
>>52693789

I ask again, when did Cumberkhan use the Loki gambit? I already know why you're wrong, I just want to see you try to explain it.
>>
>>52693207
>>52693828 was meant for you.
>>
>>52693856
Karl Urban even said it out loud like "why do I feel like he's the only one who wants to be on this ship"
>>
>>52693875

Alright, son, I'll spell it out for you.

Khan was not in league with Admiral Marcus, nor was he trying to get captured as bait. Only when he found out that his crew was still alive and on the Enterprise did he stop fighting out of rage. He agreed to be taken into custody so he could figure out a way to get them out safely. Which started with him appealing to Kirk, not tricking him - If it wasn't for Khan, the Enterprise would have been wiped out in the first encounter.

McCoy was wrong too, Khan didn't want to be there purposefully, it just served his purpose to not go anywhere else for a while. Which is why he so readily left to go aboard the Vengeance, because that also served his purpose... he didn't even break out, he was let go. He only turned on Kirk because Kirk turned on him.

Khan is a super-genius, and Kirk kind of is too, and like all super-geniuses they tend to make shit up as they go along and feed off of opportunity. People like the Joker and Loki are just devious and crafty, them getting captured was part of a carefully crafted plan that had to be completed beforehand.
>>
>>52693997
so his original super genious plan was to shoot up star fleet's meeting, teleport to klingon land and chill out for the rest of his life?
>>
>>52693207
I love Judi Dench, but at least we're getting Ralph Fiennes as the new M.
>>
>>52694085

Have you ever watched the movie sober? Khan explains everything to Kirk from his cell.

He said he thought his crew/family was dead, so pretty much. He bombed the Kelvin archives to steal the transporter and shuttle, shot up the meeting room to kill as many admirals as possible, then beamed to Q'onos presumably to hunt Klingons for sport for the rest of forever.

It's a pretty neat idea when you consider he felt like he had nothing left to live for.
>>
>>52694195
you made up the part about him wanting to hunt kinglon for sport.

also, thinking that what he was saying his 100% true.
>>
>>52694223
>you made up the part about him wanting to hunt kinglon for sport.

No shit? That's what the word 'presumably' means.
>>
>>52694241
that's cool you can make up whatever plot lines to help you enjoy the movie more.
>>
>>52694270

I don't recall ever saying that I enjoyed it, but I certainly paid more attention than you did.

Khan didn't have a plan that involved him getting caught by anyone like Loki or the Joker.

You were wrong, oh well, learn from it and move on.
>>
>>52693587
M will always be Judi Dench to me now, but when she first came in that was a bold move itself by the film producers and it wasn't known if she'd be any good. It was even referenced in Goldeneye by Valentin
>I hear the new M is a lady

Quite a lot of that movie has similarities to Skyfall in they were unsure of the future of the franchise, it'd been years since the previous movie and the Coldwar had just ended so all of this was used as the basis for the movie. This was also shown during M and Bond's first meeting.

>M: You don't like me, Bond. You don't like my methods. You think I'm an accountant, a bean counter more interested in my numbers than your instincts.
Bond: The thought had occurred to me.
>M: Good. Because I think you're a sexist, misogynist dinosaur. A relic of the Cold War, whose boyish charms, though lost on me, obviously appealed to that young girl I sent out to evaluate you.
Bond: Point taken.
>M: Not quite, 007. If you think I don't have the balls to send a man out to die, your instincts are dead wrong. I've no compunction about sending you to your death. But I won't do it on a whim. Even with your cavalier attitude towards life. I want you to find GoldenEye, find out who took it, what they plan to do with it, and stop it. And if you should come across Ourumov, guilty or not, I don't want you running off on some vendetta. Avenging Alec Trevelyan will not bring him back.

The whole speech is setting it up for this M is a woman and a badass, shut your mouths critics.
As it happens I like Ralph Fiennes as an actor but at the moment he's only played an accountant.
>>
>>52694329

Goldeneye wasn't nearly the best movie, but it was one of the most fun to watch. This scene was awesome. Basically Ms. Dench's resume for the rest of her run in the Bond series.
>>
>>52694324
chillax bro, you made an interesting point, I don't agree but it's interesting.

I think Khan went to Klingon cuz he wanted Marcus to send people after him cuz they can't risk him bring his knowledge to the enemy. but they can't send a fleet either so the possible choice is the torpedos. Which is what he needs to get back.

He told Kirk he thought Marcus kill all his buddies but I think he knows they are alive.
Having worked closely with Marcus has given him a good understand of his methods so Khan can reasonably predict marcus's moves.

The attack at the meeting wasn't a random revenge, it's to bait them to go after him.The warp is traceable, and he knows it.
>>
>>52694329
>>The whole speech is setting it up for this M is a woman and a badass, shut your mouths critics.
perhaps, but do you understand that she is not supposed to speak like the average american ?
>>
>>52693856
What the hell is a Loki gambit?
>>
>>52694329
M has to be a lady, I think it makes for better dialogue when a woman is a superior to Bond and far as MI6 goes, it levels him some and doesn't make him seem like superman with a gun.
>>
>>52693010
I die a little bit inside every time somebody puts skyfall over casino royale, I mean come on

Casino Royale was kick in the balls, such a strong reboot/reimagining of bond, it did everything it needed to make bond important once again. Also the plot is so strong fuck me, that triple ending is great to watched even a second time.
>>
>>52692988
Casino Royale was better than anything Brosnan put out. QoS and Skyfall were complete shit though.
>>
>>52695054
I actually fell asleep during Casino Royale, it's believe it or not one of my least favorite, it's like on the level of Tomorrow Never Dies.
