I am a huge fan of Bond and I don't get why this film is so popular. It's basically bad guy masters chaos theory and plans out this whole ridiculous plan to... what exactly... Kill M? It's so ridiculous... So Silva knew Bond would follow that assassin to China, knew he'd speak to that girl and follow her, intentionally got caught, knew he'd end up in that particular cell so could escape with his bullshit hacking skills. I mean, come on, what if Q had just taken a look at his hard drive without plugging his laptop into the network? What if he'd been placed in a cell with a traditional padlock? What if Bond hadn't spoken to that girl?
And then people have the effrontery to say Spectre had a few weak plot points! My God this film was daft

Bond pretended to be dead rather than fall into the hands of the only people who could help him.
Then for some reason hackers hack mI6, somehow causing an explosion and the deaths of several people.
Having retired!?! Bond, despite suffering the biggest wounds in the entire history of the Bond series
Immediately unretires and returns to London. Although he fails every possible test to be reinstated, M decides the only agent who can stop the guy who they failed to stop in the beginning is Bond.
Then we go to China, who Fdso gah frrlmpr blaa huygggni asdf so Bond can RTDYTFYTF YUUYFUF FYUFUYF RFR^&U&^R Komodo Dragon.
Bond is captured on the main villains island, which contains approximately 3 guards.
Bond then counter-captures the Joker I mean hacker and put him in a computer-controlled prison, Then, despite having been hacked before They plug his laptop in to their network and turn it on.
The Joker (I mean hacker) then escapes to everyone's...suprise...
BUT THEN
At the final battle, everyone had the same goal: Kill M. Due to this overwhelming consensus, Bond convinces M that
the smartest thing to do is ditch the entire country's security apparatus in favor of driving up to Scotland with basically no weapons, no backup and deliberately leaving a trail for the bad guy to follow.
At the end, Bond defeated himself by not saving the person he was trying to save (The entire point of the film)
Not protecting M even though he should, and obliging the villain to be entirely successful.
Scotland looks so fucking comfy in that movie

It didn't feel like a bond movie. It felt like The Avengers of Bond Movies. There was so much cringey shit. That stupid fucking hacking scene where he sees the name of his old home in some polymorphic computer code map thing, those stupid E-mail things that M was getting from the bad guy, Q didn't feel like a good Q although he was better in Spectre.
The Daniel Craig Bonds quality is as follows
Casino Royale > Spectre > Skyfall > Quantum of Solace
Skyfall was really meta/surreal to watch, since it kinda felt like the film is a deconstruction of Bond as a character.
Bardem was essentially a Blond Brosnan. Overly sexual with other characters, a large variety of gadgets that seem impossible to use and he's always ten steps ahead of the enemy. In contrast Craig Bond is stripped down to a gun and a radio being his gadgets and is essentially killed at the start of the film.
Silva has a vendetta for M abandoning him for a flashy new model, and it kinda felt like the audience was being had a go at for so easily moving on from the campy style of Bond films over the last 40 years before Craig took over. But by the end of it Craig has started to become the Bond of old, sauntering into M's office after flirting with Moneypenny, having Q in the shadows to help him however he wants.
Still not sure what the Groundsmen added to the film other than to explain why there were no more guns left in the house and have someone to talk to M while Bond killed everyone.
Skyfall makes about as much sense as a Nolan blockbuster.
Looked cool though (and i liked the old vs new theme).

Skyfall and Goldfinger were more of outliers than the norm in the Bond franchise.
They were the only two exceptionally great films and no other ones in the franchise matched them, although a few were not too far behind.
Spectre was pretty much a typical Bond film; one filled with many coincidences that end up working out in Bond's favor JUST in time for him to save the day.
And yes, Casino Royale was really good, but Skyfall was so much better from the song to the settings.

Mendes shouldn't have been let anywhere near James Bond. A guy whose best movie is about a middle-aged men's fantasies? The worst thing is how self-important it feels, both Skyfall and Spectre. Who gave Mendes the authority to fuck with the formula? M, Q, Felix, Bond, Moneypenny, they were simply played by different actors. If a new guy started playing, he just introduced himself/herself as such and that was that.

Bond and M ditched everyone else because they didn't want any more collateral damage. Innocent people were dying purely because of Silva's grudge against M. She outright says that there's enough blood on her hands.
The showdown was inevitable so they would rather do it away from people who weren't directly involved. It was more of a honorable last stand and M was okay with dying.

Everyone told me to watch Sherlock, so I did. I watched the first season. Beginning was alright, most things made some sort of sense. Then shit started getting really weird. Had some good points, but still weird to me. Then that one season premiere where he explained off his suicide with literally the most convoluted shit I've ever seen this side of a BBC show, but without the excuse that it's some kids sci fi show like Doctor Who. I couldn't watch past that. I've never had to do that, but it was just so...bad.

Casino Royale (2006) was easily the best Bond film.
Excellent scene selection, excellent fight scenes, good plot, great villian, good twist. It didn't rely on the usual cadre of jokes and gadgets, was less cheesy than the old Bonds while not being boring, actual love interest instead of the throwaway film bimbo.
