For the record, I hated both Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Trek 2 and enjoyed TFA a decent amount.
The extent to which Kylo was trained by Luke is unknown, and it's safe to assume that Kylo has received little or possibly even no training at all from Snoke.
I the fight between Kylo and Finn/Rey was purposely choreographed to deliver two messages to the viewer.

My girlfriend gifted me this collection for Christmas, since we both just saw VII. I have never owned a copy of any of the movies before, I've just watched them all when they aired on TV. So you can see I'm not a huge fan.
I was wondering if this release is considered "good" or not. There's been so many things I've heard about re-releases changing things pointlessly and for the worse, but the only things I can even remember are Han shooting first and CGI Jabba. They're free and well worth the effort, and you're never ever getting an official modern release of the unaltered movies. Luke was also a soldier in the years between ANH and ESB, and trained since ANH and ESB. He didn't complete his training in ESB, but he did between ESB and ROTJ.
Her fighting some muggers with a staff is probably not the same as warfare, cutting into an AT-AT, or training on a daily basis.

There'd be no problem if they were just a fun extra thing, but Lucas basically tried to retcon culture by sliding the Special Editions in as replacements. It's especially bad when you remember that with Empire and Jedi they weren't even entirely his to alter.

I've been looking into the Despecialized editions, and it seems like the most recent edition, v2.5, has Episodes IV, V, and VI as one file. I'd rather them be separate, but if that's how it was made, I'll take it. But do either of you know off hand if it's been cut as one continuous movie, flowing from one to the next seamlessly, or if it still has the titles and text crawls for each film?
It seems odd that a project dedicated to preserving the original trilogy would be cut like this.
