Is he the most overrated director in history? Some of his films have cool things about them but they're absolutely ruined by boring shit, and on top of that, the plot is always so simple to understand but the idiots who don't get it praise him for being a 'genius'.

The reason why Michael Bay's movies suck is because the visuals don't outwieigh everything else. The movie's goal is action, but the action is those movies are tedious, never-ending, and lacks any tension and believability. The visual style of his movies are also usually shit and the movies have a product placement problem along with others that make them bad.
