Does anybody else feel like this movie totally wasted the villains? C was puffy and totally limp-dicked, though at least he was hateable. Bautista had good physical presence but is too random and obtuse, and ultimately has all his menace undone by that cheeky "Shit!" at the end, and Waltz is just fucking boring.

Its the Dark Knight Rises of the James Bond series Poor execution, nonsensical pacing, nonsensical villains.

C is literally BBC!Moriarty. His death is his Reichenbach fall. Between the falling glass, the accidental fall after a fist fight, the physical fighting of a character mostly meant as a mastermind. Also, Fiennes kinda looks like Jeremy Brett.
Plus his derision of pencil-pushers when he is one all along is retarded.

Bautista is just like Bane, really. Bad in every way besides the physical, though at least bereft of the stupid accent.

Blofeld should just have gotten killed at the end. Also, "It was me all along, James". That's a /co/ meme, must seriously "It was me, Barry! Me!". At least he had the white cat to showcase just how much of a cartoonish villain he is. His introduction is impressively bad, too.

Swann was Selina Kyle, so just as bad.

And retiring James Bond, the man who lost everything in previous movies: His capacity for love, any chance at being heroic, his family, his past. He burns it all for the sake of being a loaded gun, and the twu wuv happens. Fuck that, he should have died, buried beneath MI6 like the relic of it he is. Not a bad relic, but he is a thing of the old MI6. No matter what happens after, MI6 has to be rebuilt. So he should have died with it, ambiguously if need be.

You ebin cynicism teenagers need to realize you can criticize something without going full edgy and trying to condemn its every aspect. Hinx was simple and solid. His only line being, "Shit!" before being pulled offscreen to his death was cheesy, but it still worked.

If the entire film had been done on the same model as Hinx, we would've had a simple, fun James Bond movie that called back to Bond in its prime and broke both the heaviness of every recent JB movie and the Hollywood trend of grim, gritty blockbusters.

That would work if he was used as an actual presense.

Bond knows he was filmed, he saw the camera. Does he delete the footage so as not to be followed, when he promises to protect White's daughter? No. Its no even as a plan to draw out people, its just because he does not even for an instant think of it.

Bautista using that footage is great, even on a shaky premise. And then it falls apart instantly with the retarded chase in a plane. Seriously, that fucking gun. Its hilariously clichéd, but out of place.

It gets kinda better when he finds them on the train. Thats cool.

But it fails again when it was obviously Blofeld's plan all along to have Bond come to him.

I said that physically he is great, because he is. But the way he is used is bad. I agree that he is pretty much the best part of the movie, but he not a credible threat even when he uses his smarts. Because it is all for nothing, since Blofeld feels right out of a Moore era Bond movie.

Not a bad thing, but hardly fitting.

I'm still confused about the movie. It seemed at first like Spectre was something that was known about in these films, given Q's reaction to the ring. Then all of the sudden Q has to do research, they've never even heard of the group before and they need Lea to even give them the name of the organization?

>since Blofeld feels right out of a Moore era Bond movie

Fuck, THAT'S what I've been trying to get at, the thing that nags at me when I try to decide why I don't like Spectre. It's a fucking Roger Moore movie. It doesn't even have the smarmy charm of Brosnan's movies, it's just fucking goofy.
>>
>Movie starts with gay ass whiny theme song by a castrated cat
>After a meandering 1 and half hours of poorly organized plot with filler and ugly brown shit colored film tint,
>Bond discovers a mysterious organization
>Discovers it is called Spectre and his "lil bro" (Waltz) who killed his father and faked his death is alive and he set the organization up
>A cat and mouse game ensues, but Waltz the villain has hardly any screentime, so audience doesn't really get involved or really care about Waltz's and Bond's conflicted past, not to mention the audience doesn't really feel any menace from this manlet.
>Audience: Yawn, when the fuck... *checks cell phone time* holy shit, we're nearing the 2 hour mark
>Finally, these two confront each other
>Bond finally confronts Waltz at his base
>Waltz shows us some retarded meteor and tries to poorly explain how it relates to fate bringing it here to this very time, just like Bond reuniting with him because lol fate. DUDE POETRY LMAO
>Waltz showcases his surveillance grand scheme "DUDE MASS SURVEILLANCE SOCIAL COMMENTARY LMAO" The writer's jerk off watching this scene thinking they're deep thinkers and geniuses for being SO RELEVANT
>Waltz says the past 3 Bond films have been connected, all the villains, girls who have died including Vesper have been BECAUSE SPECTRE.
>Waltz: DUDE I'M BLOFELD LOL
>Bond learns after decades Waltz/Blofeld still has daddy issues BECAUSE HE PREFERRED BOND OVER ME WAHHHh
>It was me James, it was me all along
>Bond gets "tortured" by a teeny tiny needle, screaming for some reason, as if it's much worse than when his balls got beaten in Casino Royale
>Waltz/Blofeld says the needle will make him forget if he hits the right spot
>Audience: ...wtf?
>Lea Seydoux hugs Bond and tells him "I love you" even though they've only known each other for a few days.
>He gets away by throwing a watch that explodes, lol what happened to Skyfall where Q said: "We don't do exploding pens or gadgets anymore"
>>
>>63142070
>Action ramps up, audience stirs awake slightly
>Audience: "Holy shit, this must be where the climax is! Gonna be exciting! Bond is totally going to fuck the place up, and there's gonna be huge fire fights, explosions, and Bond and waltz/Blofeld going after each other in physical combat just like in the old films!"
>Sam Mendes: LOL no just kidding you guys, Bond only kills two guards and then takes off in a heli
>Audience: ...that's fucking stupid
>Bond gets back to London and reunites with M to stop some retarded manlet who has taken over MI6
>Bond, M and friends drive in a car together, which makes for a completely awkward scene.
>Audience: Ok, Waltz was killed? in the most anticlimatic way possible, why the fuck is this film still going?
>Car is attacked, Bond is captured and taken to MI6 against his will but then miraculously kills the henchmen out of nowhere
>Bond looks for Blofeld (surprise he's still alive! And look, he's got a scar over the eye, just like the old Bond films lol!) in the building, where he has set up a party of images hung on the walls of past villains in an incredibly cringeworthy way, like wtf
>Bond and Blofeld then duke it out with a retarded helicopter bit
>Bond doesn't even kill this retard, who was responsible for Vesper's death, his lover.
>Bond throws his gun in the river
>James Bond will return?
>Mfw

Hinx destroying that guys eyes (with razorblade thumbnails that he doesn't seem to use again?) was pretty fucking edgy.
>>
>>63140923

i fucking loved this movie. it's way better than skyfall imo
>>
>>63142070
>Waltz/Blofeld says the needle will make him forget if he hits the right spot

this confused me

why wasnt bond faceblind or having balance problems after that?

or was blofeild just pulling a prank?

No one knows cause the writing is so shit

Why after the dialed down action of Casino Royale did the Producers decide to go back to having James be a complete Superman? In Spectre Bond survives a building collapsing underneath him and walks away with only a dusty suit. He then jumps into a helicopter, killing 4 guys and then being able to pilot a freefalling helicopter before it crashes, and this is just the opening sequence! For the climax he takes down Blofeld's helicopter with his Walther PPK.

This movie makes me wish we'd just go back to Brosnan style Bond with cloaking Aston Martins. At least with those movies they recognized that Bond was just mindless fun and didn't try to have political ramblings about Five Eyes. Either be a darker drama or over the top action, you can't have it both ways.

Jesus Christ, the writers must have seen Austin Powers Goldmember and figured that Blofeld and Bond are related.

>dialed down action
>freerunning chase up cranes
>car chase in an airport jumping onto and off of racing vehicles

He is the Jaws of Spectre. But then he is not because it has to be a serious movie. Which is completely undermined by Blofeld.

>>63142166
If it hits the right spot. Considering Bond's head is not held perfectly in place and that he is drilling in the general area, its just because he is a cartoonish, Moore era villain.

Just gotta hurt Bond. Whether or not it works is irrelevant, he's just doing it for the kick of it.
>>
>>63140923
C was far too obvious and the "Blofeldt is your brother" thing was retarded
>>
>>63142517
I'm not saying it was Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy but Casino Royale plays closer to Connery and Dalton style of Bond. It's still an action movie but it doesn't go insanely absurd.

Spectre just doesn't know what it wants to be. This is the only action movie I know where you have a morose scene of a dying man committing suicide followed by a wacky car chase.
>>
Did C remind anyone else of David Brent from The Office?

Speaking of TDKR, has anyone else noticed the connection?

>villain called C
>is trying to merge all intelligence agencies
>in TDKR we hear Agent Wilson filing a flight plan with the Agent C

So is TDKR a prequel of Spectre? Is the League of Shadows just another branch of Spectre like Quantum was?
