What did /who/ think of Face the Raven?
Wasn't on at the time because I knew it was just gonna be "CLARA IS DEAD, AT LAST"/"CLARA IS DEAD, WHY LIVE". I wish there could've been an inventive and fitting way out for Clara other than killing her, but I guess it was all leading up to this, so it didn't feel out of place.

I thought that Rigsy was kind of redundant in the end, and that there was no real development of his character. I wasn't too convinced by the logic underpinning the quantum shade, and why Clara couldn't escape her death. It was less than I liked (I'm assuming they overreacted to the Clara Who complaints of series 8) but I thought there were more than just a few perfunctory mentions, it continued things from the latter half of series 8. In TMA she consults with UNIT and negotiates Missy into stopping killing and releasing the plans and teaming up to find the Doctor. In the Whithouse episodes she's the one who sends Lunn out to retrieve the phone, seeing it as a calculated risk. The Girl Who Died, she'd have bluffed the Mire into leaving and the whole situation would have been over without a fight if Ashildr wouldn't have stepped in and challenged them. The way she battles her Zygon double is probably the most obvious example this series. Gatiss ep is the only one that didn't afford anything other than the perfunctory bit in which the Doctor asks to hold her hand and she replies she's not scared. Gatiss' eps are usually arc and character development lite anyway though. Basically all series they were being separated and Clara was shown acting on her own and doing her best Doctor impression.

I think it might depend on how you look at them, though. Some of those examples just seem like normal Clara behaviour – as in, behaviours that would have been consistent with the Clara that had only just started travelling with the Doctor, back in series 7; behaviours that aren't a result of her spending too much time with him. For example, contrary to what you said, I think her struggle against Bonnie had little to do with her becoming too much like the Doctor. Her finding a way to resist just seems like a fundamental part of her character. I can't disagree with the Whithouse example, though – the deaf woman even comments on how she's turning into him.
