All the Star Trek series are episodic where as DS9 is thematic. For that reason DS9 has a tendency to polarize Star Trek fans, some enjoy it while others like yourself despise it. But who cares what other people enjoy, really? Most Star Trek fans recognize that at the very least DS9 had some of the most interning characters like Quark, Garak, Dukat, Martok, etc. And did a great job of elaborating on the rest of the Star Trek universe outside of the federation (like the episodes on the Klingon or Ferengi homeworlds for example).
