How many civilians do you think were fucked over by their insurance companies because their policies don't cover giant monster attacks?

I'm sure godzilla counts as a force of nature
>shout at the top of your lungs "LIKE A GOOD NEIGHBOR STATE FARM IS THERE!!!"
>Godzilla teleports into your city and wrecks it

>According to Bill Wilson, director of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America’s Virtual University (IIABA), and Chris Amrhein, regular people can file Godzilla-related expenses in many different ways. Since few dwellings would be completely smashed, most of the damage would be covered under difference polices such as fire and explosion coverage, which is usually standard in homeowner policies. However, power lines pose an interesting predicament because policies do not cover damage caused from lines ripped from your household’s walls. People can also claim falling debris as a source of the damage, which is also commonplace in homeowner’s insurance.

Someone should make a movie about an intrepid young lawyer suing insurance companies trying to get them to pay up after a giant monster attack. The movie should be written absolutely 100% seriously like The Rainmaker.

I would pay to see this. It'd actually be interesting to me to see agents constantly surveying damage but never seeing so muxh as a blurry photo or hearing anything but the vaguest descriptions of the actual monster(s)

More like an act of God, which is specifically not covered.

Who the fuck is Bill Wilson? Is that's Banes real name? All I see is CIA
>>62944761
It would be a fundamental risk - basically something where if an insurance company were required to pay out for it, it would cost more money then they would ever likely to have and would at the very least utterly bankrupt them before even a small percentage of the costs are covered.

>He doesn't know
>fucked over by their insurance companies
i really don't see how it's the insurance company fault
>>62944854
Exactly, does insurance cover the cost of a whole new house if yours is destroyed by a hurricane?

>More like an act of God
OH HO!

Did we channel enough energy that the memes came to life?
>>62943796
>>62943533
also if enough homes were directly estroyed by Godzilla and insurance companies did not pay out then there could be enough of an uproar fro the government to intervene and compel companies to pay.
>>62943662
lol
It was an act of Godzilla, not covered.
Pacific Rim was better

I just wanna know what you say to family that's coming over to visit...
>"Hey, mom? You can't come visit the family this weekend."
>"What? No, no, believe me when I say that I DO want you to see your grandkids but..."
>"Well, there was like this giant monster fighting these other monsters that were trying to take over the world by reproducing these baby monsters, and then Downtown was like, gang raped by these monsters, and---"
>"Wha? No, I'm not! I'm dead fucking serious! Tun on the fucking TV, it's all over the news!"
>"Mom. You STILL don't know how to turn it on?!"
>"Oh my god, for fuck's sake, ask Dad to turn it on then!"
>"He fucking sold it? Do you at least have a computer to go on and check?"
>"You don't use it? Ugh, jesus fucking christ..."
>"Mom! I'm not fucking lying! Just ask someone, anyone!"
>"NO! Do NOT drive to my family, the whole city is radio-fucking-active!"
>"Mom? Did you just hang up?"
>"...Fucking monsters, man."
